Quaint Cabin Near 2 PA State Parks - Ricketts Glen & Worlds End
Roughing it never looked so good! We invite you to experience the outdoors in this fully furnished cabin that offers such amenities as A whirlpool tub and air conditioning …… while capturing the classic, old style cabin look and feel with hand hewn beams, stone work, and old wood floors. The cabin is completely furnished and comfortably sleeps four with a bedroom downstairs and a loft.
Located conveniently between 2 of Pennsylvania’s most popular state parks - Ricketts Glenn and Worlds End, Black Bear Cottage is a hiker’s destination offering something for everyone. Ricketts Glen State Park is on 13,050 acres in Columbia, Luzerne, and Sullivan counties known for its old-growth forest and 24 named waterfalls along Kitchen Creek. Worlds End State Park, located in the Loyalsock Creek valley, is a 780-acre Pennsylvania state park in Sullivan County that features exceptional hiking, swimming, and picnic areas for the family to enjoy.
Not hiking? Then have a seat on the front porch and unwind or gather around the firepit, tell some tales, and create some memories. Other area attractions include local wineries, antique shops, Knoebels Amusement Resort, and some of the best trout fishing in the state!
With many grocery and convenience stores located in the area, as well as several locations offering eat-in and take-out services, it’s not necessary to cook all meals, but if you do, the kitchen is fully stocked.
Note – The layout of this cabin is from the 1960’s and a ladder was initially installed to access the loft. When the modern bathroom was added, a stairwell was installed as a safer option to get to the loft in this cabin. Due to safety concerns, the ladder has been removed. In order to get to the loft, the stairwell in the bathroom must be used. The layout is unique but guests do not seem to mind. We wanted to make guests aware of this layout if 4 people are staying at the cabin.
Linens are provided at an additional cost upon request.
AC is typically installed by June 1.
Firewood is not provided but is sold onsite. Due to lantern fly infestations in other parts of PA, we prefer you do not bring firewood from outside the area.
When staying between Nov - April some snow accumulation should be anticipated in the area. A FWD, AWD, or 4WD vehicle is best for these conditions - as driveways and roadways may have some snow cover and not all cover is able to be plowed.
There is an exterior camera located on the property for security.
We encourage all of our guests to purchase travel insurance for unforeseen circumstances and cancellations. FALLS TRAIL SYSTEM UPDATE: 12/5/25 - All of the Falls Trail System is under its annual winter closure/restrictions, including the lower portion from PA118 to Waters Meet as the entire trail system has now developed ice. The trail system is now fully closed to all except registered ice climbers and hikers who have signed in with the park office and have the required minimum safety gear of: Crampons (not micro-spikes), an ice axe, and rope. The trail will remain closed until the ice thaws in spring, which is usually not until late March or early April.

Adorable cabin in a grove of hemlock trees. On rt 118. It felt very private. Short drive to ricketts glen state park. Cabin was clean and comfortable. Thanks Jessica.
This cabin is beautiful and secluded, just what we needed!! Hiking, beautiful scenery, lots to eat and do!! Wineries!!! A nice firepit to enjoy!! We had a wonderful time and the host checked in on us after the first night to see if we needed anything. That was very nice! We will be back!!
We have stayed in many cabins in the Poconos over the years and this one was by far the best! Clean, rustic, comfortable, charming, excellent hosts--the works! Highly recommend!
We stayed in this adorable cabin with our 2 children for the weekend to celebrate our 17th Anniversary! It was a perfect weekend getaway! We hiked at Ricketts Glen State Park and saw many amazing waterfalls! We even got to see a black bear! This cabin was perfect for our family of four! We had a great time and would love to come back again!
I have never felt so comfortable staying away from home before. Such a beautiful, peaceful place to stay. Love, love, LOVE! If I could give 10 stars, I would!
The cabin was very charming and rustic, clean and equipped. We were lucky enough to visit when there was snow and got the full winter wonderland experience. The kitchen had all cooking necessities and the gas fireplace was a nice touch. Would definitely go back.

Absolutely a beautiful place! Quiet secluded and peaceful! Highly recommend. Excellent Host
The cabin was cozy and comfortably furnished, so cute! Close to Ricketts Glen State Park where we spent a full day hiking and photographing 18 of the 21 waterfalls. We would love to return to this beautiful area.
My girlfriend and I enjoyed our stay this cabin. It was very close to Ricketts Glen, and World’s End State Park, which was terrific. All the amenities went above and beyond what we expected as well. Especially nice during the fall season!
Very nice home in a very convient location for some incredible waterfall chasing!! Once in the home you have the feeling of being "in the woods" very peacefull while being just off the road. Definetly a great location for a couples getaway!! We hope to return in the future!
If you want to get away from everything and enjoy nature, this cabin is a great place. The interior was beautiful and had everything we needed. The owner was very hospitable.

My husband and I came here for our anniversary. Cabin is amazing. Clean, cozy, secluded (but close to the state parks) everything you need. Property is gorgeous and well taken care of. Jessica checked in to make sure all was well. We had a wonderful time and would definitely book again.
This cabin was the perfect spot for an anniversary trip! Relax in the cabin away from hustle and bustle, enjoy nature, hike near by, or head into town for antique shopping! The cabin was tastefully decorated ,well kept, had a welcoming atmosphere and very clean! Highly recommend!
The place was absolutely quaint and peaceful. A great little get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. Plan to disconnect from technology, and enjoy the beauty of nature. We loved the layout of the cabin, and especially the great kitchen space.
