Great Lake front property! Clean, has all the amenities, comfortable beds, nice backyard with fire pit. Walking distance to downtown! Host communicates quickly. Family friendly home!
Large well stocked home with nice yard, deck, dock and fire pit. Lots to do in the area or you can just enjoy sitting by the lake and relaxing. Host was friendly and responded quickly when needed.
This home is clean and decorated perfectly. This has the best view!
The fire pit was the highlight of the weekend.
The living room and sun room also have a great space for coffee or drinks. We will definitely be renting again!! Weather was perfect for a fall break!
Our stay was exactly what we were looking for in a lake house. The whole experience was comfortable. And accommodating with all our family and friends I would highly recommend this place. We look forward to going back. The Adirondack chairs around the fire pit was very enjoyable morning, afternoon and night time. You can’t go wrong with this place enjoy!
House well appointed for multiple adults… enjoyed the porch area every morning and evening.. had a campfire… can watch activity on the lake.. our pontoon boat was safe/ secure at the dock in front of the house… the teens had good WiFi service for gaming on rain days.. close to good shopping and places to eat… an excellent fit all the way around!!!
The house is attractively decorated with ample storage including use of the garage. Very nice seating facing Chautauqua lake with a large porch, large deck and Adirondack chairs around a fire pit. Communications were clear and helpful. Lastly, this was far and away the best equipped VRBO we have ever rented.
The property was very clean. It could more air conditioning in kitchen and living room. It was very hot over 80 degrees every day. The bed rooms were fine with air cconditioned c
Whimsical house with several places to sit and gather both inside and outside. We had bonfires and happy hours outside, meals in the colorful sunroom overlooking the yard and water, and on the rainy night played board games inside. Great location: we walked to Bemus Point, it was a quick drive to the institute and also the comedy museum. On the way home we checked out the Graycliff summer home of Darwin Martin, designed by Frank Wright.
Our stay was wonderful, the house was clean and updated… the first floor bedroom mattress was pretty horrible -it needs a foam topper to improve comfort. All other beds are fine… location is fantastic but the backyard view is impaired from the bridge and noisy…however these are minor compared to how comfortable and relaxing this trip was. The kitchen was amazing … cooking was actually enjoyable 🙂
The house/cottage is nicely situated. A 5'-10' walk to "downtown" Bemus Point, and on Lake Chautauqua. There's a new back deck, then a long back yard leading to the lake. We kept a kayak in the water at the private dock. Opportunities for easy biking near town, and nice rolling terrain for a 20+ mile ride around part of the lake.
The house is nicely kept and equipped with everything - linens, towels, full kitchen.
This is our 3rd stay and will come back again.
There were 9 of us that stayed at this home. The home is in a good location just off the highway, close to Bemus Point and right on the water. House was very comfortable for all of us. The kitchen is well stocked with all utensils/appliances which allowed us to have great meals, even a clam bake. Master bedroom on the first floor is large with an attached bathroom. All the other bedrooms are upstairs and even though there was only one bathroom up there, we had no conflicts with bathroom time. We all love the enclosed patio and the dining room and living room. We spent time outside including the firepit. We would definitely consider staying at this home again. Easy to work with the owner.
We had 10 family members from 3 different households staying together, and we were able to have enough space to be together without being being in each other's way.
The kitchen really helped as it is equipped with TWO large refrigerator/ freezers and a large industrial gas stove. Also, a double oven. The rooms were clean and well maintained and there was plenty of space for card games, puzzles, etc...
We spent 3 of our 4 nights around the firepit and the kids had a great time fishing off the dock.
We would highly recommend this house for those with young kids. Two of the bedrooms had extra space that would allow for a pack-n-play if needed.
There is enough room for 4 cars, but no more.(which was all we needed). The neighbors that we met were friendly and we felt welcome.
Great vacation spot!
We had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend here. Greg was a very attentive and helpful host. We spoke a few days prior and it was clear that he loves this place and wants others to enjoy it.
We were 6 adults (two generations) and 4 children (3,3,2 and 1). There was more than enough space for sleeping and playing and relaxing. The yard was big enough for bocce and some other lawn games that I don't know what they are called, lol. The littles ran around playing games only they know the names of. The driveway, while shared, had plenty of space for our two SUV's and one pick up truck.
Indoors - there was a TV, a lovely enclosed porch (we did a jigsaw puzzle in there), the kitchen was well equipped with everything we need. My daughter in law is a baker and was thrilled to have a double oven. The stovetop has 6 burners so we were able to get everything cooked up on time. Oh, and TWO huge fridges. In all my years of renting, that was the most space we have had for food.
Outdoors - The deck was perfect size - big enough to spread out but small enough to keep track of the babies. We had both a natural fire on the dry night and used the propane fire pit on the evening of the day it rained. Everyone took a turn on the dock fishing or enjoying watching others fish. We don't own a boat I saw both motorized and non-motorized.
There wasn't much we had to bring as there were plenty of towels, including beach towels, plenty of paper goods, and plenty of cooking equipment.

wonderful lake front retreat
We can't say enough nice things about this house. My parents, brother and his kids, and my husband and I stayed here for a family reunion. It is a wonderful house. The photos do not do it justice. We really enjoyed having our coffee and breakfast sitting by the lake. The sun room is lovely - we had one very rainy day and sitting there and watching the rain on the lake was very nice. All of the bedrooms were very comfortable and the layout worked well for our family. The large master suite in the back was perfect for my brother and his 3 children. The kitchen was fantastic! We love to cook and have rented many houses and apartments over the years. This was by far the best equipped. We used both kitchenaid mixers, both ovens and the wonderful 6 burner gas range to prepare meals.
The house is an easy walk into town for shopping or restaurants and yet very peaceful. You can hear the traffic on the bridge but to us it was just white noise - easy to ignore - and at night there was very little traffic so it was quiet then.
Unlike a lot of rentals that can be very impersonal and sterile, this house is homey and comfortable and clearly a lot of love went into decorating it. It really felt like a home away from home.
We come to Bemus point annually and have stayed in many different houses and hope that we will be able to stay here every year in the years to come!
We had such a wonderful stay at this lake house! It was the perfect spot for our family’s first trip with our new baby, and it was so special that we could bring our dogs along too. The home was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed to relax and enjoy the lake. We would definitely stay here again!
Great house right on the lake. Lots of room for cooking and spending time together. Sun room, deck and firepit were our favorites. The dining room table was a great spot for playing board games. Very convenient location to walk to Bemus Point, short drive to Long Point State Park, Panama Rocks, Chautauqua Institute and Jamestown. Very clean and well maintained. The host was prompt in answering any questions.
We LOVED our stay here! Greg was easy to get ahold for questions and any issues were handled promptly. The house has everything you need to enjoy your vacation. You need to bring only your clothes and food! We will be back!!
