The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Gather used towels, washcloths, etc. and place them by the washing machine. BAG ALL TRASH and drop it off in the green cans in the garage. Turn the heat down to 65. Turn the AC units off.
Turn the lights off. Load the dishwasher and run it. Wash all dirty dishes, pots, pans etc. Turn the hot tub down to 90 degrees. Put key under the red and white striped cushion by the hot tub.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

Our neighbor to the west, yellow bathroom side, is not friendly. Do not go on his property or in the river in front of his house.
No trespassing signs are posted. Please do not go on his property.

A good place to relax

A nice view of the river, and its out of the way but within a few minutes to town. Beds were comfortable and it was clean and cozy.

We enjoyed our stay. I give it a 10 for cleanliness. The hot tub was great. We woke to coffee and an eagle flying over. The home was a little dated, but the price was right and we enjoyed.

Fall family getaway

Photos don't do it justice. Great location, saw plenty of wildlife near the river, including deer and a bald eagle. The hot tub and fire pit were very nice.

Just wanted a few days out of town with the grandkids. Doc's cabin was perfect! We had a great time.

The cabin was clean and fully stocked with everything but our clothing. Deco was styled for fun. The staircases can be a little bit challenging, but manageable. The teens did not want to leave!

Great weekend

My college friends and I rented the house for the weekend. The hot tub was great and we played lots of ping pong. House was huge with lots of room everyone. Would stay here again.

Seashell getaway

Was an amazing stay absolutely felt like home. The hot tub was over amazing over the top. The house itself was so rustic and vintage. I felt like I was in the 1930s but a great 1930s overall this is perfect for families or just for friends trying to get away and clear mind absolutely great location.

The Forest and Creek

The eleven members of our family thoroughly enjoyed our week here. There was plenty of room, enough dishes, pans and chairs for everyone. We enjoyed the Mohican Forest, including the swinging bridge and firetower. Thank you!

Family Holiday

It was fun being together and having so much room playing games or watching football or exploring this unique house. It was too wet to explore much of the outside but we did enjoy the hot tub. The stay ended with snow for our Texas family. Thank youyouTexasfamilyyou

We (a dozen guys) stayed overnight in early March and had a fantastic time. Made good use of the kitchen and fire pit area. Plenty of bathroom and sleeping space for everyone. I left a flashlight there and the property managers were kind enough to ship it back to me! Highly recommend!

Exploration and Discovery

A Christmas destinations. The house is so spacious the 4 boys found lots to do - exploring the woods and riverbed, enjoying the hot tub, playing in the game room, climbing the ladder and coming down the spiral staircase. The adults enjoyed the coziness of the living areas. Our cook enjoyed the well-stocked kitchen. We did not feel crowded or rushed. A very relaxing, enjoyable get together with our family!

Stay at Doc’s cabin

This cabin has so much character and the location is great for a quiet getaway! It had everything we needed last weekend and the owners are top notch. Couple things to note: it sleeps 14 but parking is tight with 9 cars so you’ll need to carpool and it is not ADA accessible. These were not a problem with our group but wanted to mention it in case someone else was booking and it was a concern.

Fall on Full Display

First the leaves were at their peak this weekend and made our stay even more amazing. Doc’s was everything and more than we expected. We are a group of friends that just wanted to get together to relax and enjoy time together. And Doc’s filled that. The cabin was cute and quirky. It was clean and we had basicly all we needed. Wonderful and Unique

We came here for my sister's 40th birthday party with our family and friends and this cabin was SO cute! We absolutely loved it. The kitchen was fulling stocked with seasonings and everything you needed, as well as coffee.The bedrooms were nice and plenty big for everyone. We loved how there were fans in every room and a night light. There are Movies, games and books! Communication was great with the host as well. Definitely recommend Doc's cabin. We would love to come back. Also a fun little touch is reading the notebooks from other people that have stayed and doing the scavenger hunt! We had a lovely time! Thank you . The bedrooms were nice .

Family vacation 2024

Our family of four along with kids friends and our dog stayed for 3 nights. We had a blast! There was so much room that the girls took over the three bedrooms and yellow bathroom and the boys took over the basement. We all enjoyed eating meals at the kitchen table that accommodated all of us. The hot tub and the fire pit were hits and the boys enjoyed taking the kayak out for a ride, even thought the current coming back was a little strong! Would definitely recommend this property for the space, the layout and loved the very cool/unique decor!

My husband & I stayed here for an early Thanksgiving, so that we could visit with family, our grown kids could come and go, and i could make a dinner to take to my Mother, who lives near by. As we are from out of town now, this property served our needs perfectly. There are grocery stores nearby. The property is lovely with a rustic, whimsical, and historical decor. There are unique decor items every direction you look! Great conversation pieces, indeed! The house seems to just keep going- it’s huge, yet intimate. A perfect retreat for a large or small family gathering, with pool, ping pong, air hockey and darts in the game room area downstairs. The VIEWS… breathtaking. I hope we can return in the summer months as well, to better appreciate the winding river below. However, this property is beautiful any time if year. I also appreciated how well stocked the kitchen is. Most anything you may need, you will likely find it.

Doc's Cabin is Amazing!

Doc's cabin was awesome! My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary even though it was way too much house for just 2. A great price and it had everything we were looking for. A cabin with privacy, a fire pit and a hot tub, yet had modern conveniences such as appliances, tv and internet as well as being close enough to a quaint town in case we wanted to explore! So many interesting and fun things to do! My husband's favorite part was the view. We saw deer from the living room and kitchen windows in the mornings! My favorite thing was the easy to use gas fireplace in the living room! Another fireplace downstairs appeared to be able to burn wood. The furniture was very cozy with plenty of space for games, eating, etc. There were so many historic and antique things to look at within the house! A history of the previous owner was included in a binder so thoughtfully prepared with food and recreational suggestions. We only needed to bring food, clothes and ourselves! Stores and restaurants were nearby and the furthest we needed to go was less than 15 minutes away. I would suggest Fast Eddie's for Italian dinners for delivery. We loved this house so much we would like to plan a family trip to stay here again! Thank you so much to the hosts! We hope to visit again soon!
