"Hideaway Hotel is a wonderful gem in Samara. From the moment we walked in the staff treated us as top-notch guests. Breakfast options were excellent and there is a beautiful beach in walking distance. Rooms are spacious, air-conditioning is ice cold, the water is hot and WiFi is fast. There’s a little pool on property that we did not swim at because we chose to go to the beach. Pool looked clean and nice just a few feet from outdoor breakfast. If you drive three minutes up the road, there is an even more gorgeous beach Playa Carrillo. Go there! – In the low season there’s virtually nobody on the beach. A brief drive into town and there are great dining options. "

"This resort has seen better days! Most of the structures are older and have not been kept in good repair. Wood decking around pool area is coming loose and is hazardous. Pool itself needs repairs. Rooms are more rustic but have modern combo locks on dorrs. our lock malfunctioned, so we were upgraded to the deluxe "house". This was much bigger and better with a full kitchen, and was further from the main road which meant it was quieter. staying in units near the road would be very loud. Staff was friendly & helpful and they have a lot of regular activities which would make this place better suited to a younger crowd. included salsa dancing, reggae or disco dance nights, etc. Food is average for the area. resort is a little isolated compared to both Guiones and Pelada beaches. Good, quiet business center. couldnt find 1 spoon in the large common kitchen. pretty basic."

"I booked and did not realize the distance from Liberia Airport (3hrs) but the drive was beautiful and honestly loved seeing the country. It is a hidden gem. Fantastic service, FOOD and DRINKS. Far better than I expected to be honest. Easy walk to the beach (like 3 minutes under the canopy of the jungle). The beach was fantastic and not crowded at all. I would def recommend. Not a great deal to do around there but a few restaurants and shops within walking distance. We were looking for this exact experience."

"It was very nice, but be aware that there is a $200 fee when you check in for incidentals. The grounds are beautiful and the staff is friendly, ask questions because information is not volunteered!"

"This is the best place to stay in this area of Nosara! Beautiful grounds, peaceful atmosphere and aesthetic, many breakfast options included with the stay. Included yoga classes led by experienced and excellent teachers, cruiser bikes were fun to ride, and the longer pool hours are much appreciated. We loved our stay and plan to be back. Would love if in-room coffee was replenished daily with housekeeping services. "

"Room was basic with 1 queen bed and 1 bunk bed, and ceiling fan; nothings else. Since weather is around 87 °F (30°C), nights are terribly hot because ceiling fan was not enough, even worse for the bottom bunk bed where the wind won't reach. Try to open doors or windows at your own risk and mosquitos will eat you alive or perhaps other criters will visit you since there are no mosquito nets around doors/windows. If windows and doors are kept closed, fan will only blow warm air making sleep almost impossible.The bathroom is like a sauna due to the heat and humidity where you will come out of there sweating. About the service, there are two very kind ladies who come every morning to keep the property clean and they will offer you an excellent breakfast for US $10 per person that really deserve the 5 star. They usually are gone by 1:00 PM and nobody is in charge after that time. I tried to talk to the owner about having a reimbursement for 2 nights because my arrival and departure fligts were changed but it ended up that he lives in Norway so I wasn't even able to know him and he didn't even bother to reply. Location is good since you will have the beach right in front of the property, the problem is that it is in the middle of nowhere and driving conditions are really stressing.If you're not familiar with routes you will find unpaved streets in really bad condition. there is even a route (Juan de Leon) that should have a warning that only 4 wheel vehicles and not regular cars "
