A shallow stream running through a swamp (background) is what's left of a paleo river at the Sungai Batu excavation site. Carbon dating on iron ingots and other findings at the site indicate a port civilisation, with a thriving iron smelting industry that predates Angkor Wat, Cambodia and Borobudur, Java. Room was clean, the staff very courteous, nice deck chairs to enjoy the sea breeze and sounds of the ocean. Only short coming was the missing beach and ability to swim in the sea .
