The room was nice clean but the stay was let down by the food and restaurant tables full of dirty plates food breakfast was cold and had hairs in it and lack of choice and staff wasn’t very polite

Room was decent but constant loud drone/hum from ventilation system even with air con switched off. Faecal stains on toilet walls and door frame! Sofa was dirty. No waiting staff at Breakfast and no orange juice. Staff allow for guests to smoke around the entrance door

Novotel Stevenage
Stayed twice recently. First time the shower cubicle wasn’t draining (was blocked) and couldn’t send anyone to fix it. Second time the air conditioning was playing up (different room). The general condition of the hotel is appalling for a 4 star hotel, minor signs of damage everywhere, giving the impression that standards have fallen drastically. It is in need of an urgent refit/update. My experiences have put me off wanting to stay there in future.

Check in was excellent. Instructions are needed for breakfast if no-one around as 1st time we didn't, and others know what to do. We were near very noisy clients until early hours so maybe reminders needed to be quiet. Our room overlooked a grassy area where it was delightful to see rabbits 🐇 running around.

Nice clean hotel, let down by a few issues
Room was nice and clean, air con in the room too so was very comfortable, slight problem with the key card reader in the room to turn on the lights, the socket had to be pushed into the wall to get it to work the fact the man on the desk knew this suggests it may of been like this some time? Or is a general problem with a lot of the card readers? this didn’t spoil our stay at all just a minor inconvenience, however the breakfast did spoil it, the food was ok but all seemed a little disorganised, there was no cups to get coffee from the machine despite asking several times, when we did get cups the coffee machine wasn’t working properly and I ended up with half a cup of brown gunk even after trying a different type of coffee so I gave up. To sum up I think general maintenance needs to be improved and more staff are needed at the breakfast area

Really comfortable beds. Dogs accepted . Easy check in . Food ok nothing special. Not very hygienic outside - tables never cleaned. Busy in mornings and so breakfast was running out.

My problem was with two stuff at check in, they were very rude,as soon as they saw me,they started laughing and giggling. I booked double bed,but they gave me 2 singles,I had to go to reception, to complain before they got they will change it and still very rude

Location was perfect! But Stay was ok - room smelt a little Smokey/dog. Could not access the room each time I had to get reception to redo card. Other guests were inconsiderate including a regally loud man in bar - banging on doors at 2am 4am 5am and exiting through alarmed exit meant my sleep was not good.

Great hotel, staff not always the best!
This wasnt a cheap stay, we were heading to Knebworth for a gig. Contacted the hotel regarding check in time, 3pm, gates to the gig opened at 11am. On arrival to the hotel 12:30pm, we again checked if there was a chance we coukd check in, if the our room happened to be ready. Again got a very abrupt no, check in is at 3pm. I have no issues with the time, it is what it is but noticed other guest checking in. I asked one, they informed me when they adked about early checkin, they were told you had to by £25 per room. I was never given this option but also annoys me that the hotel obvious only doing it for the extra money. We found the bar and waiting staff un helpful, not providing cutlery or clearing empties. Room was very nice, spacious, clean. Breakfast was also very nice, lots of choice, constantly replenished.
