Thank you for your review, we are sorry to hear you were cold, our heating panels work both remotely in the rooms and centrally from the reception, we can always try and assist with extra heaters too if asked.

Comfy bed, shower had good power and water was perfect temperature. The only thing that let it down for me was the room I was allocated. I always request higher level away from the lifts for noise reduction, sadly I was placed right by the lifts and I had fire doors right outside my room so I literally heard people and doors slamming all evening. Hardly slept

Tired hotel not worth the money paid
In the town centre of Stevenage, hotel very tired and in need of repairs. Surrounding area not very well lit and you feel a little unsafe!

I was totally dissatisfied with the people I met at the reception when I seek for advice about where to park for my two stay, the response is not expected to the extent that one of them was saying she will cancel my reservation and I will forfeited my payment. At that point, I was totally confused because that was my time in that area, I have to seek for advice at the nearby car washing, they are the one that help me out on what to do regarding my parking.

A good overnight stay
Very clean room, comfortable bed, shower, washing, towels etc. all good. Helpful reception supplied us with an iron and ironing board when requested. The only downside was parking was off-site, but not really a problem.

The staff were friendly upon check-in and the location was excellent, being in the middle of the new town area. It is located a couple of minutes walk from Stevenage train station and right opposite a large Tesco, which was very handy. However, the hotel looked much nicer from the outside (at ground level at least) than it did inside. The room had been cleaned but the dated decor and vibe made it feel dingy. For example, there was water damage to the floor and a hole in the toilet door had been patched up. The bed was uncomfortable (stiff and a bit lumpy) but the sheets etc. did feel clean. While it wasn't awful, it isn't somewhere where I would stay again. If these aren't things that would bother you then it's fine for a cheap stay and the location was very convenient.

IBIS Stevenage
A little hard to find but basically the hotel is in the shopping precinct near Tesco's. There's various parking spots a short walk away - on street meters so all chargeable. Quiet on a Saturday night as the local bylaws are no alcohol sales from shops after 11pm, no bars in the precinct near the hotel either so no noisy revellers! Found the top of a water bottle on the radiator - wasn't ours. Everything clean but just put a doubt in our mind finding that.

Hostel or Hotel?
I stay in Stevenage every other week for work and normally stay at the Holiday Inn Express as it always comes up cheaper, however Ibis came up slightly cheaper this time so I thought I'd give it a go out of curiosity....I really wish I'd paid the bit extra instead and stayed at Holiday Inn Express again. The overall condition of the hotel was dilapidated and run down, it felt more like a hostel than a hotel. The corridors, lift and even the reception area all absolutely stank of weed. The rooms/corridors are all in need of a major revamp and look like they haven't seen a paint brush for at least 10 years. I can't understand why this is usually more expensive than the Holiday Inn Express, which is clean, modern and well maintained, and also comes with breakfast included! Considering they're both in the same location (town centre), they're worlds apart. Safe to say I'll not be back, even if it does come up cheaper again. It really does not represent good value for money at all, if you need to stay in Stevenage look elsewhere!

Basic services and amenities. Fairly clean and presentable. OK for a 3 star hotel. Cost of breakfast is almost £10 which is exorbitant with alternatives and a supermarket right next door! Might use again when needed.

Thank you for your review. The breakfast is very delicious and a fantastic offer that goes with the brand and pricing structure. Sorry if you feel there were cheaper alternatives nearby, like with any Town Centre hotel, we are surrounded by cafes that do offer a lower price, but we cannot and choose not to compete with these, as ours is a buffet style meaning you can as much or as little as you would like. We hope that you do choose ibis for future stays

Check-in was seamless, location was very convenient as it was less than 5 minutes walk from the train station. The issues I had with the hotel were: 1. The bed linens looked a little tired and the bed wasn't properly laid. One could see bumps here and there which gave it the look like someone just got out of the room that morning 2. The toilet and bath were dirty. Had to take a picture and showed a friend. It was as if the management can't be bothered with the appearance of their facility.

Overall great, Shame about the bed!
I loved the room layout, and it was nice and quiet on the top floor. Unfortunately I didn’t get a good night sleep as the mattress was quite hard and I was too uncomfortable. Also, as I was drifting off at one point there was a loud whirring sound as if air conditioning was coming on, it then stopped, but was enough to wake me back again. It came from the grill at the top of the wall near the door. Other than that I thought my stay was great, the staff were absolutely wonderful too.

You are right the noise would have been to the AC unit, if it is set to a certain temperature and the temperature drops below, it kicks back in to reach it again.
