"The little house was exactly as described. It was very cute, spacious and comfortable. The bed was super comfortable and I’m picky about my bed! The train tracks are VERY close, but we enjoyed watching the trains go by. There were about 3 per night. The horns woke us but we were lulled back to sleep by the sound of the trains. The kitchen was well equipped but I suggest you bring your own spices if you plan to cook. The area is gorgeous and we were able to hike many trails throughout the park....

"We were traveling through the area on the way to the east coast and loved the location of this place! We hiked some of the trails in the state park across the street and drove to the national park about 20 minutes away. Lovely place and thankful it was pet friendly so we could bring along our dogs! "Great place close to interstate but quiet and a huge fenced in yard. If you have pets this is a gem. I will agree with another review it is a little tight getting our large pickup in the driveway entrance but it works. We will stay again when we are in the area."

"Very cute, comfortable, and well put together cottage. Supplied with everything needed and some appreciated extras . Perfect location for all our hiking adventures from the south end to the north end of the park. Just 15 minutes from Bridge. Highly recommend the Bridge Walk! "This cabin in Mount lookout West Virginia was absolutely beautiful. It was very clean and well supplied. My friends and I came up for the weekend to enjoy some outdoor activities and could not have been more pleased. Communication with the host was outstanding and we had absolutely no problems checking in. It was very conveniently located right off the interstate in a beautiful little neighborhood. "The property was perfect for a large group who were there to celebrate my daughter's wedding. The home had all needed amenities and so much room! It felt very homey and well loved. Everything was in good working order and all processes were uncomplicated. The owner was kind, professional and on site when we arrived. We loved the neighbors dog and had a great time. "We wanted to see the New River Gorge & surrounding area and the Cardinal Cottage was the perfect place to stay. It had everything we needed including 2 king size beds. It was located in a peaceful setting on 11 acres. Our group consisted of 2 couples around 70 yrs old. The house had easy access and the 2 showers in the bathrooms were easy to get into. The owner was super responsive and answered all of our questions. We had a wonderful week!"

"My husband and I and our kids stayed in Gauley Bridge for two nights while my husband ran a 50 mile race - Highball to Thurmond. Cindy was a wonderful host and the property was perfect for us! The house is off of a main road but that didn’t bother us at all since there is a little access road in the back right on the river. Such beautiful views from the deck, which was brand new. "We had an amazing stay, the location of the house was perfect, and we were in easy reach of all the hikes, climbing, and other activities we planned for the week. Everything was amazing until the area took a direct hit from a tornado knocking out power for the rest of the week. The manager did a good job of communicating with us about the power outage (this house does not have a generator) so the lack of power in the entire area was not what we hoped for on our vacation but is also not the fault...

The bathroom is very small but a bigger sink might make it more practical for longer stays (we only stayed one night). There is no where to set things besides the back of the toilet.
