Comfortable and roomy!

Lovely home for My time in Beaune. Easy check in and right in town walkable everywhere. Loved the outside area and spacious kitchen. Will hope to return my next visit!

Comfortable, well-located and well-equipped apartment

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Joce’s Beaune apartment. It’s light and airy with a well-equipped kitchen, a lovely covered patio and a comfortable living area. Being inside the ramparts made it easy to walk to restaurants and cafes. We had a rental car, so the included parking (in a nearby garage) was critical because having a vehicle inside the walls is challenging. (We had a Renault Captur and would not have wanted anything larger for driving and parking in Beaune - or Chablis or Reims, for that matter.) Joce was easy to communicate with and is an excellent host. Highly recommended!

Lovely stay in Beaune

Excellent location. Parking provided was a real asset. The apartment is nicely decorated with all essentials including the kitchen. Quiet at night. The host is delightful and checked with us during our stay for anything we might need. I highly recommend this property.

Nice apartment in great location.

Jocelyn was great, communicative and takes her rental seriously. Entr location is great, comes with.a little street noise at times which is fine given the location. Would return.

“Beaune” Chois - Great Choice!

Beginning with our wonderful host, Jocelyne, who picked us up at the train, we enjoyed a perfect week in Beaune while attending The Cook’s Atelier 5-day cooking school. This was the ideal place to stay, in town, around the corner from the school, close walk to all the amazing restaurants. The apartment is incredibly clean, comfortable, air conditioned, spacious and well stocked. I highly recommend for any length of stay. We will be back!

Wonderful, delightful ... can't say enough!

We spent the first five days of a 10 day trip to France in Beaune. We were thrilled with the rental and absolutely delighted with Joce's hospitality and charm. She welcomed us (and our three children, ages 12, 10 and 9) in person and escorted us to the flat, and then ensured our rental car was properly parked in the complimentary lot. Over the last three years we have traveled to Italy, Belgium and France, and Joce's flat topped the list of prior rentals. The pictures do not do the place justice ... it is charming, mixed with antiques and modern touches. It is clean and immaculate, and more than well stocked with linens, as well as life's simple pleasures, such as sugar, coffee, filters, napkins, paper towels, etc. And, we thoroughly enjoyed her gift, a complimentary, chilled bottle of White Burgandy on the patio, shortly after arriving! Joce and her accommodations rate 5 stars for us!

THE PERFECT APARTMENT WITH THE PERFECT HOSTS

My wife and I have just spent a week in Beaune Rousseau. Before we made the booking, it was clear from the consistent high praise in the reviews that this was no ordinary apartment and Joce and Yan were no ordinary hosts. Our experience confirms what everyone else has said. The apartment was large, bright, beautifully and tastefully furnished, and equipped. It was minutes on foot from everything in Beaune: from the sights, the boulangerie just round the corner (breakfast on the terrace), the restaurants and the wine merchants (late night drinks on the terrace again), with the most comprehensive folder about everything in Beaune you could want. And what can one say about Joce and Yan that has not already been said? From the moment we arrived to the time we left Joce was on hand to welcome us, guide us and help us, and always with a smile. Nothing was too much trouble. Yan is a charmer. They both far exceeded what you would expect from owners of holiday apartments. Our whole stay was made all the more enjoyable by the welcome from Joce and Yan. They are nice people.

Cinq Etoiles!

My husband and I have rented apartments through VRBO in Madrid, Rome, Paris and the U.S. The Beaune Rousseau ranks among the best. It is spacious (with lots of large windows), clean, beautifully decorated and fully equipped, including coffee, spices, wine and Joce's delicious home-made jam. There were even fresh red roses and bonbons on the dining room table! The outdoor terrace and washing machine were much appreciated features. The location is perfect, so you won't need a car unless you're planning side trips. If you do have a car, Joce's husband will escort you to a nearby garage and provide you with a free parking pass. Joce has put together three books to help you during your stay in Beaune. One is comprised of beautiful photos she took herself, one has instructions for all the equipment in the apartment and the third is full of restaurant recommendations and things to do in Beaune. (We tried several of the restaurants and enjoyed all of them.) I loved the fact that Joce spoke to me in French (even though her English is excellent.) She also encouraged me to answer in French and graciously corrected my mistakes She is a caring hostess who truly wants you to have an unforgettable experience in Beaune. We would love to return to this apartment and highly recommend it.

Beaune Sweet Home -- Perfect Name!

This was a mother-daughter trip to the heart of Burgundy wine country, and our expectations were more than fulfilled. I've never met more helpful hosts than Joce and Yan. Example: for a variety of reasons our arrival was delayed, so we didn't arrive in Beaune until 1:00 AM, and our hosts were there at the apartment to move our luggage up the circular stone stairs, help us park our car in the free covered parking, and give us a quick tour of the apartment to answer any questions we might have. Unbelievable! There was also a welcome basket with bread and a bottle of local wine waiting for us. The apartment, in a centuries-old building, was light-filled, spacious, and included all modern amenities. The terrace and table were so inviting that even on the last day of November we sat outside for a glass of wine. The town of Beaune itself is beautiful, historically impressive, and charming. We followed Joce's advice on restaurants, wine tastings, and shops....and were never disappointed. One night they even drove us to a Michelin-starred restaurant because we had expressed an interest, and this was their favorite. This apartment had recently been re-done with new furniture. It was attractive and comfortable. We actually were so comfortable there that we didn't want to leave it. What a wonderful place. Thanks to Joce and Yan for helping to make our visit unforgettable!

GREAT TIME IN BEAUNE ROUSSEAU (OUTSTANDING HOME)

My former colleague at work and old buddy Uwe and me (Joerg) – both of us from Germany –usually meet in September at a nice place for our traditional annual reunion – to discuss things from present and past, to make sightseeing and hiking tours, to wine and dine etc. This year we had decided to come to Beaune in Burgundy for a whole week to enjoy the local and regional cultural and culinary features. In the internet we had discovered BEAUNE ROUSSEAU – as we should find out: a really beautiful vacation home. On our arrival we got a pickup from Beaune main station by our hostess Joce with a very warm welcome. From the first moment we could feel how much she cares of her guests. On our way to the flat she already gave us a compact city tour information about the most important places of interest. The apartment is situated centrally in the old town – only a few minutes away from all the historical highlights – and calm at night. You reach the flat when you have made a few steps up on a winding stone staircase. The rooms are ideal for a relaxing stay: a spacious living room with 2 adjacent separate bedrooms – tall ceilings and windows – offer a comfortable atmosphere. The kitchen is full-equipped and has an access to a cozy furnished balcony which we liked to use for breakfast and wine tasting including the lovely welcome bottle. On our second day Joce gave us a lift to the local Hertz rental car station, where she had booked a car for us for tours around Beaune. Afterwards Joce guided us to the car park where we could place our rental car during our stay – coming back from our excursions (Clos de Vougeot, Vosne-Romanèe, Montrachet, la Rochepot etc.). Joce also gave us lots of practical hints for our stay in Beaune (restaurants: e.g. Le P’tit Paradis on 25, rue Paradis: a really superb location – or the Saturday market on Place de la Halle with a huge variety of local and regional goods ). On our departure day Yan (Joce’s husband) drove us to the train station for our return journey. We were perfectly satisfied with our stay, the wonderful home and particularly with the friendly support from Joce and Yan – thank you so much. When we come back again to Beaune – and that is quite probable – we know for sure where to stay: BEAUNE ROUSSEAU !

Wonderful stay!

The apartment was perfect for us. A quiet street near shops, restaurants and points of interest. Joce met us on arrival and explained everything we needed to know to enjoy our stay, including laundry and kitchen use. She also helped us when we left- she is an excellent host. The parking close by was a big help, too.

Best Location!

We planned a trip to Burgundy as a couple with our adult cousin from Paris coming along. The accommodations are clean and beautiful! Lots of room! Beds were VERY comfortable. It’s in the BEST location - in walking distance to everything! The host was so nice. We definitely recommend staying here to anyone wanting to stay in Beaune!

Great location and lovely property. Access to our apartment was up a narrow spiral staircase but that aside this is a wonderful place to stay. Jocelyn, the owner, is a lovely lady who ensures that guests have a great visit to Beaune.

Fantastic apartment!

This apartment is fantastic! The location is absolutely perfect, right in the center of the old walled city, and close to shops, restaurants, the Hospices of Beaune. It is also a very comfortable and quiet apartment, and we were able to sleep well each night. You can walk or bike everywhere. We were in Beaune for 3 weeks without a car, and we rode our bikes on the vineyard bike trails, exploring Pommard, Volnay and Meursault. Joce is an amazing host! The apartment is spotless, and Joce was always ready to help with any requests we had. She gave us excellent recommendations for things to do, and made our stay very comfortable. Joce is a host who goes above and beyond, and I can’t say enough good things about our experience in Beaune, thanks to Joce and her beautiful apartment.

Beautiful Beaune Apartment

A lot of properties seem to get high ratings whether they truly deserve them or not. This one merits every star. Beautifully renovated two bedroom apartment run by a very friendly and helpful owner. It's also in an excellent location with many shops and restaurants literally on the same block in the "old" part of Beaune. There's no elevator to the first floor apartment that my wife and I stayed in but this wasn't any problem. It's only twenty stairs up (albeit twenty ancient curved stone stairs.) That might be the only drawback for someone who just couldn't get up a staircase. There is an elevator to the second floor apartment. We didn't see that place but have to assume it's equally well done. The appliances are all new and the apartment is very well equipped including a "welcome" bottle of wine and a couple of Burgundian special pastries. Everything was first rate. We have stayed in maybe 2 or 3 dozen rental homes and apartments in Europe and North America. This was one of the best. Highly , highly recommended.

Best of Beaune

A well maintained and attractive property in the perfect size old French town. The location is excellent. We were two healthy adult couples traveling together and this property worked very well for us. We enjoyed Beaune and used it as a base to tour Dijon and all of Burgundy. And, of course, Jocelyn was the perfect host, available and helpful when needed but left us alone otherwise. Please note that this property would not work for anyone with mobility issues or has difficulty walking up a stone spiral staircase. Also, the parking space was invaluable but be warned that the spaces are very small.

Wonderful apartment and fantastic host

Our apartment was wonderful - very well equipped, clean and spacious. The location is great for exploring Beaune by foot, and it was helpful to have free parking at a nearby garage. Joce (the owner) speaks excellent English and booked some restaurants for us before our arrival - she went out of her way to be flexible and helpful. We would definitely recommend the apartment to others visiting the area. Thanks, Joce, for such a warm welcome and unique apartment.

Bel endroit, mauvaise période

L'appartement est parfait en tout point, tout est prévu pour être comme chez soi, rien ne manque. L'accueil a été des plus agréable également. Nous sommes malheureusement arrivés la semaine où des travaux importants demarraient dans la rue et avons subi le bruit des engins de chantier quatre jours durant (marteau-piqueur dès 7h40 le premier jour). Nous quittions donc l'appartement tôt le matin pour revenir après 17h00, heure de fin des travaux. Dommage que nous n'ayons pas été prévenus et que dans de telles circonstances le locataire n'ait aucune possibilité d'annuler son séjour.
