Overall we had a good stay ! The location is great. Other than it being kinda cobwebby and it took a little while for it to cool down everything was nice !
House had a decent amount of mold and could really use a deep cleaning. It's in a great location and I would stay again if I knew it would be clean. We ended up leaving a day early.
Easy to work with the property owners, and nice location in Beaufort. The house has comfy beds and all the things we needed. It was not fancy, and my wife was a little bothered by dusty blinds and fan blades. I wish the bedroom had blcurtains.
Good central location, spacious, good amenities, good kitchen, comfortable bed, good shower, attentive hosts, nice view of the water. Would like to see a door on the second bedroom and another towel rack in the rear bathroom.
It was very clean and in a great location and well stocked with necessities. Living area furniture was very sparse and uncomfortable. Hooks and some kind of shelving in the bathrooms is needed.

Like if a Frat house were clean
The location was great and close to many attractions and restaurants, easy to find. The lock is the worst thing about this place, if you’re leaving you have to hold the door closed an extremely specific way or it will not lock. The house itself is only base level clean and sparsely furnished with cheap furniture. One of the toilets shifts, the bedding and pillows are pretty uncomfortable. The pictures make it look better than it is. The “waterfront” in the title does not apply to any guests that stay in this guest house, only to guests staying in the main house, so that was disappointing. This would be a good place to rent if you are planning on being out most of your trip as it’s not very comfortable or inviting, my friend and i described it like if a college apartment or frat house were mostly clean.
BAD: Not clean. Everything cheap, that's why the lock didn't work right and bugs can get in. No ammenities. No support staff. On a curve on busy street - getting in and out isn't easy. No towel racks not counters in bathrooms.
GOOD: Location. AC & refrigerator worked. Beds OK
The location was very close to many of the attractions and tasty eateries in Beaufort, SC. It was very spacious, quiet, and tranquil. The hosts were very involved and accommodating. The pier was also very nice. I will be visiting again.
Property & location were great!! The inside was freshly painted & fresh. There were no window coverings on the living room/ kitchen windows. Bedrooms had curtains. Showers & amenities were nice. Mattresses were a little worn. We really enjoyed our stay!! Photos on VRBO are true.
Visited for long weekend to do some boating and see airshow. Great location convenient to downtown and marina. Host was very accommodating for our schedule. Place could use a little TLC but was clean and had everything we needed.

We never interacted with the host But the amenities were okay, it would have been nice to curtains between us and the neighbors. And some cooking and baking utensils. We had to buy a cookie sheet because there was Only one baking pan, no cookie sheets. And we only had two pods for the dishwasher, NO liquid dish soap so we had to calculate our four day dish use.
Great location. Guest house roomy and clean. Only negative 2nd BR needs door or curtain. Overall grounds & exterior need some TLC. Would stay there again without question.
This is the perfect location. Managers were very nice to deal with. House needs a little updating & guest house needs air condition fixed. Other than that the say was great!
Joanna and Steve were wonderful hosts from check-in to check-out. supplied us with everything we needed and made excellent suggestions for restaurants and what to see in the area.
The location is great for exploring Beaufort and Hunting Island state park, as well as day trips to Charleston, Bluffton, Hilton Head, and Savannah. Kitchen was well stocked although we didn't really use it. Bedding was comfortable for a great night's sleep and the guesthouse was clean! Just a minor observation here that I would suggest towel racks in the bathrooms and a fresh coat of paint on the base boards/wood trim.
Overall the stay was good. We did have a couple of issues that came up but those were resolved. The weather was really cold which was unusual and we spent a lot of time indoors. I think to make this a better stay would have been to have some more comfortable furniture in the living room area, ie, comfortable couch and or recliner. I also recomend insulating your hot water heater.
Yes the lock is annoying at first. Yes the toilet is not bolted down properly. There are issues with the doors (or lack of) and the furniture is pretty uncomfortable. BUT, the privacy is great, the large amount of parking is wonderful, the location is excellent for anything military, and we got to cook without issues. The high ceilings make it feel very open and keep the heat away from you while you sleep. The main AC worked well during May, the window units were clean and didn't smell like swamp butt, and the showers are spacious. The dock is a quick walk down the yard (behind main house), and there’s a nice view of the inlet from the pier. Yes the place is old and a bit run down, but it is South Carolina after all and this is an old established neighborhood. The biggest negatives for us were the door lock and lack of communication from host. Overall, not a bad stay.
If I could give a minus score I would. We got there and then checked out as soon as we could secure another place to stay. We were there the first night but nobody slept.
The place was so dirty and unkept and the furnishings looked like they had been purchased at a thrift store. All the linens looked as if they had already been slept in and not laundered.
Worswt experience ever!!!!!

Location is the only saving grace
The pictures of the home and entrance must be extremely dated. There is lots of rot around the porch and the columns. The sidewalk into the guest house is collapsing and treacherous. We were greeted with trash on the porch table and on the ground around the entrance. As the owner mentioned, the lock is temperamental and it should be replaced. The cleanliness was lacking, walls are dirty, fresh paint would be a good idea. As others have mentioned, the toilet wobbles severely. There's also a hole in the bathroom ceiling. All the furniture is low end, and to make it worse it seems like second hand low end. The kitchen island is unusably high. I'm sure that there are other places that have a good combination of location and cleanliness.
