Perfect stay

We were down for marine boot camp graduation and this was perfect for our family. Had plenty of space inside and parking was easy even for a large transit van. The hosts were very accommodating and I would for sure stay here again. It was nice to relax in the hot tub after spending the day walking Parris island!

Great Weekend Fishing Trip

We decided to take a short trip for the last weekend of summer vacation. The house was perfect for us and my son loved fishing off the dock. Great communication from host and property was as described. Thanks, we will be back!

Beautiful low country retreat

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and spending time on the dock fishing, watching the sunrise and watching the tides come in and out. Short drive to Port Royal which is a beautiful spot for walking, a beach, boardwalk and restaurants. The place was clean and well appointed with plenty of room for our family of 5. Highly recommend.

Close to Parris Island!

We were there for my son's Marine Corp bootcamp graduation. It's super close and convenient to base. Beautiful property, love the waterfront. We had 5 people, it was the perfect size for us. We will definitely consider it for a vacation rental in the future.

Absolutely amazing host!

Being my first Vrbo rental Shane helped me understand the process and communicated clearly any necessary information. The rental was clean and spacious. We had no issues getting to and from Parris Island activities.

Loved the space! Need better water pressure in the kitchen. This made doing dishes challenging. Hubby had issues with the ceilings upstairs but he figured it out by the time we left-LOL! We prob needed at least a half bath more but we just staggered showers and potty time! Thanks so much

BEAUTIFUL GEM

The hosts were terrific. The property was gorgeous. We did not feel funny that the owners were right next-door. That was one of my concerns because I've had a situation that did not work out well with owners very close. This was not the case with this property. I am recommending this property as an option to many I have more family that will be graduating from Parris Island soon. I bet they'll stay here based on my comments. Thank you so much to Shane and family.

Marsh view

We chose this rental because of the marsh view, so you can imagine our disappointment when we realized that you can't see the marsh from inside, except for the small windows in the bathroom and porch door. View from the screen porch and outer deck is excellent. Downstairs bed was comfortable, we didn't use the upstairs. Kitchen is small, no dishwasher which I didn't notice ahead of time so my error. Located between Port Royal and Beaufort, we explored both, enjoyed lunch at Fish Camp (PR) and dinner at Wren Bistro (Beaufort.)

Marine boot camp graduation

We came from Louisiana to see my youngest son graduate from Paris Island. This was the most beautiful home, the owners where very nice place was gorgeous. Drinking coffee on the rock as the sun came up. This place is perfect 5 Star we will be back!!!

Wonderful Experience

This was our second time staying at a Shalo Retreats property and just as before we were very impressed. Traveling with young children always comes with its challenges and I feel that this house definitely made things easier especially with the glider and crib. The host is very friendly and communication is wonderful. We will definitely be back.

Staycation

We came for my birthday and father’s day. The location is very beautiful and spacious. We loved the screened in porch for breakfast and quiet evenings. We were able to go to Savannah for lunch and enjoy local fishing and shopping in Bluffton. Hubby caught huge fish in just minutes on a local charter! I also enjoyed local photography in Port Royal. There is an armadillo that lives under the porch that was super cute. Overall it was a comfortable stay and we would go back. Thank you

Stuck in the Pluff

Shane and his wife were very accommodating and helpful for our family of 4 with 2 young boys beach trip. We brought a boat and Shane gave good tips on where to go fish and how long it takes for the tide to come in when you chase bait too hard up a skinny creek :) (45 mins from dead low on a rising tide for those that are curious). Would definitely come back, hopefully when the Reds are running.

Fantastic place!

The River house was the perfect spot for our weekend getaway. The view was beautiful, and the house was plenty spacious and clean. The king sized bed in the loft was very comfortable! We had everything we needed and will absolutely be back!

Shane, the owner was very helpful & made sure we had everything we needed & even told us about a firework show. We had a gorgeous view from the back porch and enjoyed walking down to the dock. A very peaceful,relaxing stay. location was perfect for graduation at Paris Island. We would definitely stay here again!
