"This was my first time booking through VRBO, and I specifically filtered for a pet-friendly waterfront property. Unfortunately, this listing was not actually on the water. While the photos show a lake, the house is about a block away and there's no view of the lake from the home itself. I missed that detail in the fine print, but I feel the listing is a bit misleading in that regard.Upon arrival, I also found the cleanliness to be below expectations. Some dishes were not properly cleaned and had to be rewashed, and there were old coffee grounds left in the coffee maker. The outdoor enclosed room was quite dirty—the table appeared not to have been wiped down in some time. Additionally, the living room couch was very uncomfortable and felt like sitting on a hard board, which made it hard to relax indoors.On a positive note, the host was very friendly and communicative, which I appreciated. I would suggest the host pass along these notes to the cleaning service and strongly recommend updating the listing to clarify that the property is near the water, but not waterfront"

"Unfortunately, we ran into a situation with a sick child and had to make a last-minute change of plans. We were well aware that this was inside of the typical timeframe where adjustments to our stay could be made, but the experience we had made us feel undervalued and ignored. There was a complete failure by the host to respond to any form of communication, including multiple phone calls/messages, texts and emails. What if we had been on site, dealing with an issue in our room/unit? The total lack of response is completely unacceptable. In a customer focused industry, this was an extremely frustrating and disheartening experience. "
