Grand Hotel du Nord

Grand Hotel du Nord

8/10 Good
"Nice hotel, nothing particularly ‘grand’ about it. We paid for a standard double and that’s what we got. It’s not the hotels fault but many restaurants are closed on a Monday evening, so you might want to sense check a stay in this town on that night."

10/10 Excellent
"We stayed at this property for 4 nights and it was heaven. The property is located at a very quiet road on the side of the village. The silence is bliss! It is a great location for walking. You can actually start beautiful hikes from the property (and not encounter anybody), so the dog was very happy too.The furnishings of the property are all you need, the bed is of good quality and comfortable. The tiny garden at the back is a wonderful retreat for reading or just enjoying the silence. So relaxing...The village is somewhat remote so for dining out you would need transport (car/bike), there are some nice restaurants at driving distance. A good boulangerie in Monthureux-sur-Saone where you can also find a small supermarket for all your daily supplies. Larger shops in Darney, as well as a super fast charging station for electric cars. And then the host, Anja, what can I say... She speaks several languages fluently, is very hospitable and warm host, explains everything very well, she has great tips for hikes and restaurants (and she loves dogs). She made us feel very welcome. Thank you Anja, for a great stay and making us so welcome in your house."
