My boyfriend and I were looking for a peaceful, country setting to celebrate our anniversary. The house is amazingly beautiful with all the amenities we could need! Jean was responsive and considerate during our stay. Will come again!
This was the perfect getaway for our family! Our 12 year old wanted a place to stay in the country and this was it. My husband and I grew up in the country and this brought us back to our childhood. The host was fantastic and answered any questions we had. She was a delight!
A great blend of old rustic characteristics and updated features! Be advised, there are a lot of windows and no curtains or blinds. Otherwise very comfortable and relaxing! I will be returning for a solo stay to write a book
This was my second stay, and consistently wonderful experience. Beautiful property and amenities; and right on a great fishing lake. As a fisherman, can't think of anything better.
Absolutely lovely place! So clean, comfortable and quiet. Great place for a little "me" time.
Jean is the most responsive host I have ever had, she will go out of her way to make sure your stay is perfect!
This was the 3rd stay for my brother and me at Ole's House. We're in our late 70s and have visited Ottertail County since the early 1950s when we owned property on Ottertail Lake. Ole's House is a step back in time for us and we love it. A cottage on the edge of the woods with no annoying lights or noise from neighbors, but all the necessary amenities, including A.C. and internet. Perfect for us.
We are busy, working parents who needed some time away together. This weekend was super peaceful and exactly what we needed to rest, relax, and connect with one another.
The cabin is adorable and comfy; exactly what we needed.
Wonderful quiet location! right on great fishing lake!
Jean was wonderful as a host.
The property is just as advertised. The property is right on a great fishing lake with some of the best fishing in the lake just 20 yards from the dock!
Super location for anyone interested in fishing in a private quiet location.
This 1919 farmhouse surprised us with how well kept and quaint it was. It was so cozy and had everything we needed. We were very comfortable staying there and also hiked Glendalough State Park nearby. Our black lab had a great time exploring the woods around the property as well. Thanks for a wonderful place to just "get-a-way"!
Went here with my dog and boyfriend. My dog was able to run freely and loved exploring the property. It is close to Battle Lake where we had dinner and visited the brewery. The house is very cute and clean.
We loved this clean place that had everything we needed. The birds, and other wildlife were present while we took time to read. The beds comfy and views great the kitchen was easy to cook in. The little town nearby had the best pizza, bakery and friendly people. We took advantage of the local area lakes for the fishing, snorkeling and paddle boarding
We came up for memorial weekend and spent a wonderful three nights here. The property is expansive enough that you feel as if you have your own space, but if you need anything Jean is present and helpful; every inquiry we had was responded to within minutes. The cabin itself is as homey as the pictures show. It has been updated where necessary, but still retains the charm and aesthetic of its age. It was a perfect place to relax for a few days.
