Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Băsești?
The best area to stay in Băsești is within the main village itself, particularly around the central square and main road, as this is where you'll find the most convenient access to local amenities and a sense of community.Băsești is a small, traditional village, so the "best area" refers more to being centrally located within its quaint boundaries. The main road, often just called "Strada Principală" by locals, runs through the heart of the village, connecting the various homes, the local shop, and the church. Staying along or near this road puts you at the centre of village life. For travellers looking for a quiet, authentic rural experience, staying in Băsești is ideal. You'll be surrounded by traditional Maramureș architecture, often with wooden gates and homes, and have opportunities to observe daily village life. When is the best time to go to Băsești?

The temperatures are mild, typically ranging from 15°C to 25°C, making it ideal for exploring the rolling hills and traditional villages.
