"When we first got there things didn't seem to bad. The Host's assistant showed us around and we settled in. Looking around we discovered there were 2 melamine plates to use, an assortment of cutlery, including plasticware. There were no "glass" glasses. Plastic glasses, Sippy cups other plastic cups. Park Royal Beach Ixtapa - All Inclusive

2/10 Terrible

"This was our second time at this location. First time was great we went with a family member who had. A Clue Membership” which by the way if you have it they treat you amazing! We didn’t have the membership FYI. This time We had a horrible experience. First day we didn’t get our rooms until 6pm check in was at 3 ( side note I paid for 3 rooms I have a party of 7) we walk into room number one there was a maintenance guys fixing a leak. We have to go back down to reception they say”we are almost done” ok. We started our first day at 7:00pm wasted our time. Day 2 we had an amazing time but not at the hotel. We get back to the hotel at about 5 there were puddles of water everywhere in one of our rooms. My families clean clothes was all wet. Water made its way to the closet. We call down to reception they sent someone to “fix it” again we had to share a room while they “fix it.” I asked for a new room they said, no! But they did wash the wet clothes. Day 3 again some issues. I wasted time arguing until they finally gave us a new room. Everyday we had the same issue with the same room. It was always was getting fixed. I just wanted a new room From the beginning and to enjoy my vacation. Manager did send an apology letter as well as a bottle of wine with some fruit, but honestly they should have given us another room."

"I first booked through Expedia and got an excellent deal. I wanted to extend my stay, I did but was more expensive. I liked the location of the hotel and the room I got, so I paid the extra. The problem when making reservations, you do not know what room you will get. The rooms on ground level might have great access to beach and pool, but most rooms are not private al all. When in the room you would need to draw your curtains. The first-floor rooms are a gamble, you might get a patio but if you do not, there is no privacy at all if you have a room facing the hallway. The staff is wonderful and make you feel at home. Breakfast included many options; If I go back, I will get the package, it is great. The rooms are basic but more than enough, do not expect luxury, only clean and comfortable with easy access to the beach. EVERY member of the staff is GREAT!"

"Beautiful, well maintained and every staff member we encountered was courteous, smiling and welcoming. We hadn’t sprayed in a Thompson of Hyatt group but will look out for them. Easy to access town and beach restaurants. The 2 restaurants on site were great but If you like local coffee shops there are several excellent local ones including LOOT that also offers local artisanal products- and great coffee and brunch/ breakfasts. ( The hotel could upgrade its pickleball net but at least they had one court marked out!)"
