Enjoyable

Once we got in everything was fine. The humidity has caused some issues with the passcode lock. The guy was extremely helpful any time we called concerning anything. The house is comfortable and in a safe location.

Clean, Convenient and Comfortable!

Summertime II was just close enough to downtown Bar Harbor to get into town on foot or by car quickly, but far enough outside to avoid the hectic nature of a tourist town. The space was large enough for 5 of us to spread out and enjoy. Very comfortable and inviting space, comfy couch and beds. The back porch was a nice, private area for sitting out on or eating/grilling dinner. We cooked our own meals most nights and the kitchen was spacious and had everything we needed, just like cooking at home. Despite 3 other units being on the property, it was incredibly quiet and peaceful in Summertime II and our pup felt right at home in the space as well. 100% would recommend.

Great place two full baths, 3 bedrooms and a loft. Large sofa, kitchen with all you need. Clean and easy to get a hold of owner if needed. A very short drive to downtown Bar Harbor and close to Acadia National Park.

Bar Harbor

The lock code was not working so we contacted costumer service who gave us access to a single key to enter the house. He said someone would come to did the door code the following day but no one ever came. We had a single key to access the door for 6 people. It was frustrating.

A good stay at Summertime II.

My family and I had a good stay at Summertime II. The place gave us the space and amenities that we needed for our trip to Bar Harbor/ Acadia. The house is part of a multi unit building. There are 2 bedrooms upstairs (one king sized bed and one queen/ full sized bed) plus an open loft at the top of the stairs with a twin sized bed and a full bathroom upstairs. Downstairs there is a large living room/ dining room area with a decent sized kitchen, a bedroom with two twin beds, and another full bathroom. The kitchen has most of the necessary tools and appliances you would need. Very spacious living room/ dining room area. Washer and dryer are included. Somethings that definitely could be improved upon are the deck/ outside space. The deck and entrance stairs felt very unsafe. The deck is definitely old and seems to be rotting out. There were also no chairs for the outside space which would have been nice to sit outside on. The twin bed mattress were very stiff. Additional padding or replacing the mattresses would definitely enhance the stay. Queen and King bed were comfortable. The place was clean. Would come back again.

Pros and Cons

We had a great time on our visit to Bar Harbor and this place is in a great location. The house is spacious, we had lots of privacy and the washer and dryer were super helpful. A couple of downsides to note - overall the place needs some maintenance. We learned it’s used for student rentals in the off season and this makes sense for the general condition of it. The rugs are older and stained and bugs get in around the a/c units. The kitchen isn’t well stocked, be prepared to bring or buy basics like salt and pepper, sponges, coffee filters. Finally, the responsiveness of the management wasn’t great. We had internet and TV issues when we arrived and no one got back to us until late the next day. For what we paid, I wouldn’t stay here again.

Mixed bag in Bar Harbor

Location between downtown BH and Acadia N P entrance. Plentiful towels & dishes. Had amenities not listed (beds, AC, Washer & dryer) Quiet (except landscapers early 1 AM. Negatives: No window covering for bedroom windows; could see inside and too much light at 5 AM No seasonings, can opener, other usual supplies—starter supply of sugar, coffee, etc Opening around upstairs ACs let in lots of bugs. No working deadbolt on entrance door; part of door jam missing No response from text to property manager re above. Extremely long waits when calling 24/7 assistance number, then she couldn’t find our information and we got disconnected. Wrong internet password listed on front of Information book

Good home base for exploring Acadia and Bar Harbor

Pros- convenient location, about 1 mile to downtown Bar Harbor and very close to Acadia entrances. House was as described. Beds were very comfortable, kitchen had enough serving ware and cooking utensils. Fridge is brand new. Grill worked. TV is large and easy to stream from your own platforms. Large, comfy couch and adequate lighting. AC worked well. Supplies (paper products, cleaning supplies) were more than adequate. Spacious and quiet. Washing machine and dryer were unexpected bonus! Cons- There are no window shades to block out sunlight in the bedroom windows! This is a major oversight that needs to be remedied. I was exhausted from waking with the rising sun at dawn each day. Also, the cleaning job was not sufficient. The spare room on the top floor has unsealed cracks between the window AC and the window frame, so MANY insects were able to get into the room- and did! There were smeared bugs on the walls and ceiling when we arrived; I would expect this in a rustic cabin, not a VRBO house. My daughter had constant mosquitos, spiders, and even bees come into her room through those cracks. There are many amateur cosmetic fixes (holes, dents, shoddy plaster repair, wall lamps that hang loosely in master bedroom) that aren’t critical, but contribute to a feeling of a slightly sub-par vacation environment, and which could be easily remedied. Lastly, the shower stalls are tiny and cramped. Be aware of this if you are a bigger person.
