Cozy, clean, updated home located in-town Bar Harbor, a 5 minute walk from the village green.
Situated in a quiet neighborhood with a large enclosed yard, this home is a great spot for a family vacation.

Three bedrooms, one bath, fully equipped kitchen, dining room, living room and wrap around deck with table and chairs- all on one level, also with a basement-level laundry with washer/dryer.
There is a propane grill and picnic table in the fully fenced yard.

Bedrooms: master bedroom with queen bed, 2nd bedroom with queen bed, 3rd bedroom with 2 twin beds, all have have AC units.

Kitchen: all updated appliances - dishwasher, microwave, fridge, stove/oven, blender, mixer, center bar with 2 stools.

Dining room: Seating for 6 around dining table.

Living room: large couch and love seat and chair, table and bench for computer/work area, satellite TV with DVD, high speed wireless Internet.

Note: Due to insurance regulations the fireplace is non-functional.

Wonderful stay!

We have stayed at Shannon Cottage many times. It is very comfortable and well stocked. The location is perfect! It is in a quiet residential area just a couple of blocks from the town square. The fened yard is great for our dogs. The owner is lovely and provides a personal touch.

Very comfortable house, great location!

We have stayed at Shannon Cottage 4 times and love it there. The house is comfortable and well equipped. We take our dogs and the fenced yard is great for them. The neighborhood is quiet but a short walk to the center of Bar Harbor.

Shannon Cottage

Shannon cottage exceeded our expectation!The location of the cottage was walking distance to everything in just a few short minutes. The check in process was super easy. It was clean, well taken care of and had everything we needed. The amenities at the home were perfect. The fenced in yard was perfect for our little French bulldog. We would highly recommend Shannon cottage to anyone looking for a beautiful place to stay in Bar Harbor.

Great Location in a Quiet Neighborhood

We loved staying at this cozy cottage! It’s conveniently located within walking distance to restaurants, shops and the waterfront. And it’s just a very short drive to explore Acadia National park. The neighborhood is very quiet. Our pup enjoyed the fenced-in backyard too 🐶 We’re looking forward to coming back to Bar Harbor soon!

Wonderful stay in Bar Harbor

Shannon Cottage was a great home base for exploring all Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park has to offer. The house was well-stocked with essentials and kitchen gear. The fenced-in backyard was perfect for our dog. The host was communicative and helpful. Highly recommend!

Great Family Vacation Rental

As good as a high end hotel

This property was amazing. Yard and house was much bigger than expected. We had 4 adults, one kid, and 2 large dogs and had room to spare. Perfect location off of main roads but short walk to everything. Everything was stocked more than any other place I've stayed. Its clear the owners take pride and joy in this place.

Vacation in Bar Harbor

My husband, my daughter and two grandaughters stayed here for a week. The location was better than expected and the house was very cozy and comfortable with everything you need. Safe and quiet neighborhood about a block from downtown. I would drive my family to dinner and then return the car to the house (husband sprained his ankle). Really enjoyed our stay at this house!

Downtown cottage

We loved everything about our stay at the shannon cottage. Barbara was very responsive.The house is fantastic, very well equipped kitchen, the grill in the backyard is new. The yard was incredible, totally fenced in. The dogs loved it, it was safe for them. The wrap around porch was a favorite place for breakfast, afternoon snacks and cocktails. The house is well maintained, the bathroom is brand new and gorgeous. The beds were very comfortable.The house was spotless. We loved it, look forward to returning.

Another nice stay at Shannon Cottage

This is our 4th stay here, I think. Have lost track. It's amazing how quiet it is considering how close it is to BH ctr. We value being able to park the car (plenty of room for multiple cars although we only ever have one) and walk everywhere in town after a day in the park. Not only close to restaurants but also < 10 minute walk to the YMCA

Great relaxed house in a perfect location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property and would do so again. Clean, comfortable, everything we could need was there, and the location was perfect for exploring everything while an easy walk to town. Our pups enjoyed the yard and were at ease in the quiet neighborhood. The owner communicated well and promptly. We even had fresh flowers! Shannon cottage from the outside is charming and the location is fantastic. Barbara is very responsive and very helpful. Perhaps because it was the end of the season, the bathroom was not very clean, and there were a number of minor maintenance issues that need to be addressed which we communicated to her.

All the comforts of home.

We really enjoyed our trip to Bar Harbor. The location of this house is perfect. It’s a short walk into town and an easy drive to Acadia NP. We cooked most of our meals during our 6 day stay here. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, pots and pans, dishes and had a nice selection of spices. This made cooking at “home” a snap. The bed that I slept in is comfortable and the water pressure for showers was good. We were able to relax in the living room on comfortable furniture when we were out exploring. Our dogs loved the yard and in warmer weather there’s plenty of space to relax outside.

Dog Approved Acadia Adventure

Barbara's place was absolutely perfect for our visit to Acadia National Park! The location is a few minutes walk to Bar Harbor (shopping, restaurants, coffee shops, etc) and a short drive to Acadia National Park. We stayed here because of the location AND that it was dog friendly with a fully fenced in yard. The house was well stocked with amenities- Extra blankets, towels, a full kitchen with glasses and dishes, a first air kit, even board games! -you name it - it was a home away from home! Barbara even had a bouquet of fresh flowers in the kitchen when we arrived which was just another way she goes above and beyond. My family stayed here for a week and had a wonderful time. If we ever get the chance to visit Acadia again, we will definitely stay here!

Another great Bar Harbor stay at Shannon Cottage

Our 2nd time staying here. The owner was good enough to set it up so we could arrive early. Place perfect for us. Very quiet street, yet stone's throw to Mt Desert St in Bar Harbor downtown. Allows you to ditch the car when going about town. Nice weather this time so we ate lunch on the deck under the parasol shade. A nice perk. Not related to the cottage but the lobster roll at "The Hotdog Stand" in Winter Harbor (Schoodic Pennisula) is my wife's new favorite after discovering last time here that Adelman's Deli had closed. Of course, it's a two-hour boat (or car) ride round trip but if you like hot buttered lobster rolls worth a stop if you're going out there.

Quiet home near main street Bar Harbor

We were a family of 5 that stayed for a week. The house was immaculate and very well stocked. The host, Barbara was very attentive, although we really didn't need to contact her for anything. The location was great. The neighborhood was quiet, which was a nice contrast to the bustle of main street. Had we brought our dogs there was a very nice fenced in yard. The twin beds were a little stiff and while the house was air conditioned it was done with units, the main one being in one of the bedrooms. It was quite loud, but all of the units together did the trick. We turned the main one off at night after the house cooled down and were quite comfortable. This is the perfect place if you want to be close to main street but also would like your space and privacy. Would definitely stay again.

We had a great stay at Shannon Cottage! Barbara was lovely, very organized and communicative. She had some flowers and chocolates out for us when we arrived, and pointed us in the right direction when we needed to find a car mechanic! The cottage was cozy and clean, and the yard was fenced in securely so our dog could safely go out. There was also a spot that was consistently shady so we could play soccer outside comfortably any time of day. The location was perfect—the street was quiet, but it was a short walk to town. While our car was getting fixed (there is a mechanic right down the street and they have another shop about 4 miles away), we found we could get anywhere we needed to go by walking to the village green and taking the free island explorer busses. Dogs allowed! The grocery store, Hannaford, is also a short walk. Bar Harbor was awesome as usual—There is a great new bookstore behind Reel Pizza, we had popovers at The Stadium, there is yoga at 9:00 every morning on the lawn by the beach walkway, and Diver Ed’s Dive in Theater, at College of the Atlantic, was like an educational 2 hour stand up show! We had a minor medical emergency while we were there, and the hospital was also within walking distance to the cottage. Barbara was a great host, and we would definitely want to stay there again!

We stayed here 3 years ago and we enjoyed it both times. Our dogs loved the fenced backyard and we all enjoyed the short walk to everything downtown. The bathroom has been updated and is really nice. The house is cozy and comfortable. We have stayed in several other properties in Bar Harbor and we like this one best for our travel needs.
