Opening in 1932, it has served the town of Bar Harbor as a movie palace ever since, accomodating such prominent families as the Rockefellers on their vacations to nearby Mount Desert Island. Kept in fantastic condition over the years, the theatre still has most of its original interior: seats, curtains, and even the original lighting board for stage performances. Perfect location for us

We like the easy access to Acadia for hiking and being able to walk downtown for shopping, dining and other activities. We also like the off street parking and the quiet neighborhood for easy sleeping. The number and location of beds and bathrooms works very well for our family and lifestyle.

Outstanding experience! Very cute and clean town home with a well appointed kitchen and quiet patio. It is the perfect location! Close enough to the middle of town that you can walk there easily, yet not right in the most busy spot. Easy check in and checkout, as well as clear instructions for both. Very responsive to messages that I sent with questions prior to our trip.
