About this property
Tiny House in the Trees with Fire Pit/Foscoe/No damage from Helene!
The space Our tiny house is one 528 sf open room with a fully-equipped kitchen, table for four and bar-seating for two. In the living area there is a sectional sofa for reading, watching Roku TV or movies or playing board games. For sleeping, there is a built-in king-sized bed and a single bed (both are super comfy). There is also a full private bathroom with a shower accessible from the living area. The tiny house is also equipped with great Wifi!
We love the window-covered walls! It's like being in a tree house... on the ground:) Outside is an acre of flat wooded and grassy yard for exploring plus a firepit and plenty of seating (rocking chairs, swing, table and chairs). We leave you all of the things you need for a great fire!! There is a chance that guests will be staying next door at the antique cabin while you occupy the tiny house. On the other side of the cabin, there is a family favorite guaranteed-catch trout farm - but, occasionally, you may smell the fish!
Guest access You will have access to all amenities on our property. Outdoors in warmer seasons, you can enjoy over an acre of our "cookie-sheet flat" land (a rarity in these mountains) with bocce ball, croquet, etc. We have a large grassy area for yard games and a wooded area for exploring, too. There are plenty of chairs in the yard for relaxing, reading, or chatting plus a firepit to warm you on chilly nights.
Other things to note * Our cabin and tiny house are centrally located to just about everything in the area. The following towns or communities are just a 10-minute drive: Banner Elk, Valle Crucis and Boone. There is great access to fishing on the Watauga River, hiking and views of Grandfather Mountain, zip-lining and snow tubing at Seven Devils, and skiing at Sugar Mountain, Beech Mountain, or Appalachian Ski Mountain. A full-service grocery store is only five minutes away. Also within a five-minute drive are restaurants, bars, coffee shop, day spa, hair salon, vineyard, hiking trails, park and playground, Watauga River fly-fishing, and a guaranteed-catch trout farm. Also of note, we get a good cellular signal on our property. Our property is treated but since we are in the middle of the woods there is a chance you will see a bug or two, especially during the warmer months!

The Tiny House was the perfect place for my husband and I to relax and enjoy the mountains before our beach vacation. Shelley the hostess was prompt to answer any questions we had and the house is so cute!
The tiny home was great for the two of us. Clean and very quiet!! Loved how centralized it was to two different towns and close to a gas station for late night snacks. Will stay again.
We had a great time in this tiny home ! We enjoyed the views of grandfather mountain and the swinging bridge just 20 min away. We also got to see some snow during our stay all in all we had a good stay.
Loved this tiny home. This was perfect for my husband and I and our golden retriever. Very comfortable bed and sofa and desk for working. The flat yard was great for playing fetch with the dog. Would definitely stay here again.
This little mountain house was marvelous! We planned a romantic getaway and this was exactly what we needed. I have never slept so well after a long day of hiking as I did on the comfiest bed/pillows. We will definitely book this house again.
Reservation was easy to make, and the place was comfortable for me and my niece and my little dog. Both nights we were there were pretty cold, but we were comfortable in our tiny house. Many thanks to Shelley for helping us be comfortable.
Family trip to one of our favorite spots. Great location. Easy to find. Communication was easy for the few questions we had. Loved how close we were to everything. The perfect size for a “tiny house” - we loved it!
Sweet and quiet but not far from fun activities. Loved sitting outside by the firepit just breathing nature. Exactly R&R we were looking for! House was clean and tidy and perfect for us. I recommend this for a lovely getaway. Loved this tiny little gem!
My daughter and I needed a place to stay to explore the Grandfather Mtn/ Linville area. This place was great. The owner was very communicative, its centrally located and a short trip to Grandfather Mountain bridge and Linville Falls. We can't recommend this place enough for its amenities and comfort. Easy in and out and if you want to spend a night in, the firepit is an easy distraction. Highly recommend.

The Beds Were Comfortable
Not what we pictured. This is an older structure located between a storage business and some sort of factory on the other side. Cut off the main road and make your way through sort of a junkyard to get to the house. All the outdoor furniture was covered with leaves, dirt, and cobwebs. Anytime you use hot water (shower, sink, etc.) it sounds like someone is using a chainsaw outside. Beds were comfy. In the mornings especially, you can hear loud, loud noises from some sort of factory (like dump trucks loading and unloading). If it’s just about location…it’s not bad. Close to Banner Elk, Valle Crucis, Boone, Blowing Rock, and Grandfather Mountain bridge.
We enjoyed a wonderful weekend visiting our daughter for Fall Break. We were able to relax, sleep in (quiet). We had everything we needed to cook. We brought our crockpot but they even had that. Water was hot, beds comfortable, and close to everywhere we had planned going.
Stay was great! A short stay of only one night, but would stay here again for longer periods. The bed was extremely comfortable, the shower was large, and the fire pit was great for relaxing.
This tiny house is in a great location to everything the high country offers and the property is a gorgeous setting for my 2 golden retrievers to run and play in the yard. We will be back!
