Old and worn down …. I stayed at this hotel 20 years ago and seems as zero renovations or upgrades have been done since that time. Location is great but will not visit again !

The pool was empty. I assume because of Covid restrictions but it wasn't stated anywhere and that was part of the reason I picked this hotel. Other than that, my room faced the park and it was pleasant hearing the birds.

Nice hotel near the Kiel waterfront
Stayed here with my wife for two nights as part of running the Kiel Marathon. Nice hotel with a good pool and sauna and it is easy to get to other locations in Kiel from here. The front desk staff seemed a little uninterested but otherwise a nice stay

The hotel is excellently positioned for the Fjord of Kiel in a lovely, leafy location. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable. Unfortunately on a negative note the carpet in my room was covered with what appeared to be dog hairs, particularly at the side of the bed and the room itself was quite dusty and tired.

A beautiful visit to the 70s
Amazing hotel from the early 70s, really well restored and retro details are kept in nearly perfect condition. It is such a pleasure to see that some hotels still take care of the originals. I was positively surprised Maritim has kept this pearl like it is. It is a full experiance to stay at the hotel, I highly recommend if you like to go back in time and spend a few days in the 70s. The indoor swimming pool has original wood panelled roof and patterned tiles. The sea view is great. Quiet area with a nice park around. Walk distance to a great bar/beach club on a pier.

The Maritim is my favourite hotel in Kiel because of its location by the waterfront. The view from the rooms with sea view is amazing. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Free parking is available next to the hotel. Check-in and check-out was very straight-forward. The breakfast buffet is generous.

Hotel generally okay, bit dated in decor. Can't really call the gym a Gym as consists on one pull down machine. Standard free WiFi is awfully slow, paid one is good but expensive at EUR 5 a day especially charging for WiFi now a days! Bit far out from center but is a nice walk along the water.

Highly Recommended
The hotel staff was absolutely brilliant; very courteous and extremely helpful. The room was light/ bright and airy with a fabulous view over the Fjord, absolutely stunning. The hotel is a bit isolated and the bar/ restaurant opposite was not open so a trip into town was the only eating alternative to the hotel. The menu in the hotel restaurant was limited but the dishes available were well thought out and varied; the actual food was of extremely high quality, table staff were friendly and helpful especially as our German was, to say the least, limited. Only downside, if there is one, was that the room tea/ coffee was not topped up but given the overall service this hotel offered this was a minor issue. All in all, highly recommended!!!

I love the location of this hotel, the beautiful views of the Kiel canal and the forest along side. The large rooms are another bonus. The hotel is in need of an update but it is clean and comfortable. The staff always friendly.

We enjoyed our 3 Nights at Hotel Maritim
Asked for a top floor, Canal facing room and that is what we got, lovely views. Lovely comfortable beds. Friendly staff esp in the restaurant. Breakfast is 17 Euros and worth it. Opposite the hotel is the Seebar and there you can enjoy a good evening meal and a beer or three. Nice indoor pool. The hotel is on a hill and could be difficult for anyone with a walking problem. You need a car to get about.

Was an average hotel yet i enjoyed it
Overall my stay was good, the hotel guest services were responsive and supportive, i had few observation on housekeeping as they regularly miss amenities, and they keep used dishes or cups as is without cleaning or replacing after we used it. the area is extremely noisy and full of different types of insects so you cant keep the windows open for ventilation and cooling (no AC). no sun blinds so you'll have to wake up once the sun rises. hotel in a good condition, rooms some are in good condition and newly renovated and some are very old with scratches all over the furniture (like mine, suite 623). the indoor swimming pool was great and well maintained, lobby was in good condition. no staff after 10 pm (only one receptionist). "Keep in mind you'll have to carry your own luggage in arrival or departure regardless staff are available or not"

The hotel and its facilities are old, and out dated. Not the type for me when I'm on business travel.

Dear guest, the hotel was first opened in 1846 and after the second world war, the hotel was rebuilt in 1956 and 1972. But we always have to improve our services. Last year, we renovated all our bathrooms. This year, the public toilets were done. And on July 1st, 2016, we install new flatscreens in all our rooms.
