Ballintoy old school house was a fabulous place to stay. In fact, the school house was our favorite accommodation out of 4 while we traveled Ireland with our family of 4. The house is beautifully updated while maintaining the charm and character. The views are breathtaking. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer! One disadvantage is that you have to park a bit down the road and walk to the school house. Do not let this deter you from booking and staying here - it was a non issue for us! Thank you to the host and beautiful town - we'll be back!

Pros-stunning views from the house, clean, modern, close to nearby attractions, good communication from host. Cons-we were unaware of the parking situation from the listing. You have to park your car a quarter mile away in the village as there is no way to park or pullover in front of the house. This made getting suitcases to the house, difficult. We didn’t know that it’s customary to just park in the road to unload your belongings or groceries. Also, the door has no doorknob. So, you think you unlocked the door but it latches shut and there’s no way to open it. It’s very easy to lock yourself out. Be sure you have the host’s phone number before going to the house. With little to no cell service you might want to ask for the WiFi in case you lock yourself out like we did. The host was quick to respond which we are grateful for!

The cottage was beautifully clean. Very well equipped. The host kept in contact regarding access etc.The location precludes the parking of the cars and unloading etc. Parking is 200 yds down the main road. Otherwise a fabulous place with fantastic views from the bench in front of the building.

This was our first stop on a tour of Ireland and we could not believe how fortunate we were in finding this spot. The space is clean, comfortable and well appointed. The view is breathtaking! It is walkable to a charming beach and to a few establishments in the town. As other reviewers have noted, the drawback of this property is the lack of designated parking, so getting your bags unloaded and up the stairs is a challenge - coming from North America it shocked us at first, but we soon got used to the different road conditions here, so it was not so difficult to manage, and there is ample parking 5 minutes away in town.
