I think that the hotel website needs updating. I felt mislead on the amenities, room layout (especially bathroom), and parts of the property.
Room: The roof was open and geckos/(HUGE) spiders, and tons of ants were everywhere. We paid for the deluxe room, so we got the bigger bathroom, but didnt use it. Again, its outside with mesh wire covering openings, but were broken, so there were tons of bugs in the bathroom, and it always smelt damp. As a matter of fact, the whole room had a smell to it (almost a bit like sewage at times).
Property: The staff does a great job keeping up with the property with the tools that they have. Its unfortunate that the website alludes to a rice terrace on the hillside, however it is over grown and seems to have been for quite some time.
Food: I had read mixed reviews on the food, but my husband and I had no complaints. The complimentary breakfast was great too.
Staff: The staff is fantastic. They are so helpful, and attentive. I would say that we felt jipped on the spa services. we paid for an hour, and my massage lasted 45 minutes, and my husband as well, on top of the woman leaving him to just lay there for an addition 10 minutes in the middle of it.
Cultural aspect: VERY cool to see the village tour! The cooking class was awesome too! we learned so much about traditional Balinese villages, and culture. It was amazing an amazing experience.
Over all, I wouldn't recommend this hotel based on the expectations regarding the property that we had going into it. However, The cultural experience that we had because we stayed there was amazing. If you wouldn't mind the things I pointed out above, then yes, go for it!
