Great family Beach home

4 + bedrooms / 3.5 bath home. Home sleeps 10 - 12 comfortably. It is the perfect location for get togethers for family and friends. The upper level open kitchen, living, dining area is bright , warm and welcoming. An upper level deck stretches across full front of house and has several rocking chairs and dining area. The home is only a short walk to the beach. Features of home: upper level has master suite with king size bed, tv, en suite bath, large walk in closet, accessible deck entry; 3 additional bedrooms on this level: two with queen size beds and one with 2 twin beds. There is a full hall bath for these three bedrooms to share as well as a half bath. On the lower ground level floor there is a large open room with two sets of bunk beds (sleeps 4), couch, tv, and game table. There is a full bathroom on this lower level. The outdoor shower is also on this level. The house has hardwood floors throughout. Additional features: 3 TVs, internet, 3 four - passenger golf carts, 6 bikes plus youth bike, well equipped kitchen with new cabinets, quartz countertops and stainless farm sink, beach toys, kayaks ( 2 single and 1 double), bogie boards, poker table. Pet friendly. See house rules regarding pets and pet fee. Bald Head Island Club temporary membership available for additional fee.

The home rents weekly, Sunday to Sunday, during the peak season. During the off season home is available for a minimum stay of three nights.
CANCELLATION POLICY. If canceled at least 60 days before scheduled check-in, Tenant will receive a full refund. In the event of a cancellation within 60 days of check-in and if the Premises are re-rented on the terms set forth in contract, then the Tenant shall receive a refund of all payments.

Great family beach house!

We had a lovely long weekend stay at this great house. Beautifully decorated, very nice layout, perfect for our family. Great location too. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect for large family

Wonderful house with plenary of room for family with kids. Very clean and easy check in and check out. Great kitchen and open living room and bedrooms are tucked away and is quiet even when when people are in living room. Loved our stay!!

Beautifully decorated, Plenty of room for family and friends in this historic home

Baldhead Island is the best beach in North Carolina for nature lovers! We enjoyed the many bicycles for exploring the island. A very short Walk to the beach. The great room kitchen dining room combo is Perfect for cooking family meals, and hanging out with everyone.

Perfect family getaway

We loved our family getaway at Hatchling House. Location was ideal as we were close to the beach, market and BHI club. House was bright and airy, and we loved the open family room/kitchen and large porch. Very comfortable and clean house with great communication from owners.

Memorial Day Vacation

This is a great family beach home. The property owners are very easy to communicate with and responsive to our questions. The house is extraordinarily well equipped, and was spotless when we arrived. The home accommodates a large family with multiple bedroom and great gathering room and large kitchen.

Wonderful Rental

Jim and Sharon's home is a great place to stay on BHI! In a convenient and central location on the island, the home is rich with history. Well stocked for all activities both inside and outside. Very clean, bright and organized. We're grateful to such wonderful hosts and hope to be back again and again.

Great house and great location

This family friendly house had everything we needed for the wedding weekend with friends all over the island. We were close to the beach, store and not far from the marina. The house had golf carts, bikes and kayaks (if we had more time, we would have loved to use these). We will definitely try and get this home next time we visit Bald Head.

Great week!

We had a wonderful time! Much appreciated were the ‘extras’ like games, puzzles, books, beach towels, bikes, and there were plenty of chairs. Comfy beds and pillows, exceptionally well-stocked kitchen, and comfortable couches and chairs. You can’t beat the location. We also enjoyed seeing a painting bunting in the tree every day 😊

Wonderful Home

The house and hospitality of Sharon did not stop to amaze us for the duration of our stay at this wonderful house. From the welcome bag with goodies and waters, to the comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen and supplies, to toys, books and bicycles galore. We could not have asked for a better place to stay and after 10 years coming to the island, this house was hands down our favorite! Sharon, thanks for all you did to make our vacation amazing.

Spring break for the win!

we had 4 adults +7 teenagers in this home and it worked perfectly. Very well stocked kitchen and game closet, beach towels provided, good bikes, enough golf carts for the size of the group. One golf cart is extremely slow so it's best not to overload that one with people or gear, but nothing really to complain about. Easy to get to the beach which was perfect for the teenagers. Would highly recommend!

Perfect gathering place!

The four bedrooms upstairs and huge bunk room downstairs make this house ideal for gathering family and friends. It's close to South Beach, and situated centrally on the island so it doesn't take too long to get to either the marina area or to East Beach. The twenty-somethings in our group enjoyed the kayaks on the creek! And several of us went for bike rides, as the house has plenty of bikes. Our labrador retriever was in heaven, of course, because the house is just a short walk to the water! The owner checked on us after we arrived, and was very responsive to any questions we had. Great house, great location!

Perfect location

We had 7 adults and 4 children stay at the Hatchlings and we had plenty of room. The place was very clean, well organized and had anything kitchen wise you would ever need. They had 11 bikes and several helmets, 3 kayaks, 5 or 6 beach chairs beach toys, boogie boards, beach towels... we had so much to do! But the location was our favorite part. Walking distance to South beach, very close to BHI and club privileges so we got to enjoy the amazing new pools and water slides there along with golf and activities. It is also close to The Marketplace. We biked often to Old Baldy and The harbor area and we prefer to go to East Beach so being in the middle of the island we weren’t far from anything. A great place and accommodating and nice owner! We will be back!

Old Bald Head Charm

We had a fabulous stay at this charming classic old bald head home. It’s a home. The owners take so much pride in stocking this home with amazing items. How many times have you rented a home and 1/2 the items don’t work? Not here! Loads of bikes, working clean grill, well stocked kitchen. We loved the open floor plan for our family. We enjoyed sipping coffee on the porch every morning, and using all the games provided by the owners in the evening. From this location we could hear the ocean but could not see it. However, walking or driving to a beach access was very easy. I would skip membership to the BHI club. They cater so heavily toward full time members I thought it was a waste of $. The beach is too beautiful to sit at the pool. Don’t skip Drinks at Jules and bevy’s and pizza at Wisp. Check out jailhouse too. Remember to take as much over in plastic bins as the grocery store is some what limited and pricy. Have all the fun on this special island!

Great Family Week

Amazing spring break at the Hatchlings House!

We had the BEST time at BHI at the Hatchlings House. Sharon and Jim were such amazing hosts, checking in multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed. We were particularly impressed with the stocked kitchen, game closet, beach toys, bikes, and vacation supplies. Truly, it has everything you could ever need in a vacation home. We had four kids between our families, and they enjoyed the room downstairs with the bunk beds. I also appreciated all of the extra special touches they accommodated for our dog Yoshi, including the cute doggy towel. Would not hesitate to recommend this house to any new or seasoned BHI traveler!
