"I needed a pop in overnight inexpensive place to lodge and it was very reasonable and super comfy! I slept like a baby! The owners were super nice, walked me to my room and went in and checked for me. I was staying alone so I was very greatful for that."

"This was a cute little hotel, I told my husband it was shady pines from the golden girls so we were laughing every time we mentioned the hotel. Parking was tight when we returned from dinner but still worked out. Star wars fans would love the lobby Tons of sink space, plenty of pillows and Towels, I appreciate towels!! The air conditioner didn't really get the room cold and I was sweating most of the nighthad to leave the window blinds open to keep the air conditioner running also:("

"We were greeted as though we were being welcomed into a community. Everyone we interacted with was really friendly, and the scenery was breathtaking. Our cabin was just perfect for falling asleep to the sounds of nature, with the creek passing just behind. Such a perfect relaxation spot. I highly recommend giving Slackpacker a try too. Fantastic breakfast for such a great price!"

"What a place to celebrate my 80th birthday! We ate out only once, preferring to sit on the deck every breakfast and dinner time, watching clouds pass across the mountains and gorgeous sunsets. The house is warm and welcoming, and very comfortable. It is beautifully decorated as well. Banner Elk is a delightful little village with good restaurants as well. I highly recommend this property. My only suggestion is to ignore GPS if it tells you to come in on 194 - one heck of a winding road with locals who want to go very fast!"

"The log cabin is just adorable. Its setting on the top of the hill overlooking beautiful rolling fields. Plenty of wildlife roaming around. The home is clean and very comfortable. The beds were firm and extremely comfortable. We slept like babies after our long days out and about. Mary Frances is very responsive and is willing to work with your needs. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay in your cabin."
