"If you're looking for the Waldorf Astoria, this ain't it! Still I give it high marks and look forward to returning. The room was comfortable and practical. We had everything we needed. The price was reasonable - especially for "pet friendly" and the hosts, Sam and Mita, made us feel like we were staying with family. This area was hit hard by Hurricane Helene and a few items still need a little "tightning up" such as pot holes at the hotel entrance, but the massive efforts on post hurricane renovation are also evident. As stated, we'll be back!"

"Room 230 was a nice and quiet clean room. The only negative about the stay, was the body wash dispenser in the walk in shower did not work. "

"We stayed here on both legs of our trip. It's intended for extended stays, so the amenities aren't much to speak of. Plenty of stores and restaurants nearby, though. And the rooms and grounds are nice and clean, and the staff was friendly."

"Breakfast was delicious. Room was clean and very comfortable. Access great. Wifi signal was spotty but it was okay. Staff was very helpful and professional. They accommodated us great for late check in after . Will stay when we come again."

"Our only real complaint would be the servers in the restaurants. Our fortieth anniversary dinner in the Chalet Restaurant was dampened by a distracted waitress that had to be asked numerous times for water and cocktail napkins for our glasses that were sweating all over our table and dripping on our clothes. Our food came to us lukewarm so we didn’t even stay for dessert. Our first night there I made reservations for The Pub not knowing they only had high top tables which are not comfortable for one of us due to a medical condition. The hostess told me we couldn’t be seated in the Taproom because that was not what I reserved. When I questioned our server about it she said it was because there was only one server in the Taproom and when I pointed out that serving only had two people seated in that area she pretty much just ignored me. Besides our dining experiences we loved Switzerland Inn. We loved our view and our balcony!!"

"This was an amazing place to stay! I didn’t realize I had a 1-bedroom unit and that was awesome. They have 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom units with a fireplace! Full kitchen, clean, quiet, and location was perfect in Banner Elk. My new go-to mountain retreat-away-from home!"
