Nestled in the Styrian Alps, this charming village offers spectacular hiking trails and the rejuvenating thermal waters of Grimming Therme spa. Winter visitors can ski at nearby Tauplitz or watch thrilling ski flying competitions at Kulm, while summer brings opportunities for cycling around picturesque Lake Ödensee.
Hotel has ample parking and only a short drive into town or walk down the hill through a forest. Good breakfasts and dinners. Room is a bit Scandanavian, light, clean and modern.

We found this to be a clean and convenient hotel with all the features needed to satisfy a range of different guests. It appeared basic and generic but was actually modern with loads of features to offer a personalised stay (interactive board, informed staff, local discount card). Could walk into town although not much was open when we were there. There was a good range at breakfast including cook your own eggs, and a variety of seating options to break up from the ‘dining hall’ feel (high...

A great place to stay with stunning views. There's a bus stop at the entrance so it's easy to get to Dachstein Krippenstein and Hallstatt.
There's also a wharf close by with two transport options.
The mini-market in the resort is well stocked with plenty of options for self-catering.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and restaurant food was excellent.

We had a great stay at the Falkensteiner Hotel. Great location looking up at the ski slopes, the rooms were beautifully decorated and well provisioned and the design touches throughout the hotel were a perfect mix of contemporary and traditional Austrian. The breakfast selection was fantastic and dinner in the restaurant was a beautiful experience with great service from Franz. The swimming pool, sauna and spa facilities were also outstanding - especially the outdoor pool and the ice plunge...

This is a large, efficiently run hotel right opposite the ski slopes and almost next to the main ski lift. It's also directly across the street from an enormous Apres Ski 'palace'. The hotel has a nice rooftop, large spa area and great places to sit and relax overlooking the slopes. Breakfast was also great for a day of skiing ahead.

Amazing host who even offered to let us park at his own house as all the parking in town was full. Room was beautiful with an amazing view. Great breakfast and the best shower we have found in 6 weeks of hotels
