"We arrived at 4:30pm and the lady, Renee, at reception told us that we had enough time to make it to the complimentary wine tasting at Shadowfax. It was 5 minute walk. We completed check-in and walked quickly over to the wine tasting. We expected them to turn us down or act like they didn’t want to serve us. The gentleman who led the wine tasting was so accommodating and didn’t treat us like we were running in last second. For that, we did buy a bottle when we probably wouldn’t have otherwise. The complimentary wine left in our room was a nice touch as well. (We went to the wine tasting prior to going to our room-so we had plenty of wine haha) Later, Renee gave us good advice on where to go as we needed to wash clothes and had missed the deadline to send clothes out. She was very helpful. The indoor pool was lovely at night and felt pretty fancy. The grounds were gorgeous and it backs up onto the zoo. I wish we had more time there. We stayed here as our last night in Australia (we are American) on our east coast road trip. I felt like I scored on finding this place and felt like the price was wellllll worth it!"

"We stayed two nights here, one on the way to our holiday and one on the way back. On the way there we stayed in our usual twin room, which has two double beds and a rollaway for Lala. It is cramped, but does the job. On the way back however, we opted for a family room, which was essentially twice the size, and had three beds, making for a far more comfortable night. We'll stay in that one for sure going forward, should we opt for this approach again. It was a perfect size for the five of us. On this first night, we had quite the experience. All was well, except there was no rollaway bed when we arrived at the room. Someone quickly rectified that, a fellow from Maintenance I think, rather than a housekeeper. Anyway, after he had left, we saw that the bed was not at all well made. Whilst trying to improve this, we noticed to our horror that there were fresh blood stains on the duvet! And not a drop or two, this was a lot of blood! Poor Lala was quite freaked out by this! So I went and found Housekeeping, and they quickly changed it, taking photos and being very apologetic the whole time. I do understand that this hotel is primarily a one-night stop for people, and has hundreds of rooms. So no doubt their Housekeeping staff are kept VERY busy, around the clock. But still, what this smacked of to me was a bed found that had been tucked away - no doubt because of the blood - and wheeled up to us without a second thought. Pretty poor really, for the price we paid."

"Great long weekend stay! > We stayed here from Thursday to Sunday and had a wonderful experience. The room was exceptionally clean, and the bed was very comfortable. All of the staff members we encountered were friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a comfortable and hassle-free stay!"
