Maison de Noble Nicolas - Jules

Now back in use as a main residence, the house, built by the canon Noble Nicolas in 1530 and now the home of the owners, is built with the remains of the feudal town. The House of Noble Nicolas comprises two 16th-century dwellings. Situated on the ramparts in Avallon's very quiet historic quarter, this ancient garden offers panoramic views over the Morvan. The garden and swimming pool are available for use. Numerous restaurants in the immediate vicinity. In particular Les Cordois Autrement, the most famous. Museums and exhibitions are within walking distance, as is the adjoining Collegiate Church of Saint Lazare. Vézelay is around ten kilometres away.


The Jules room (40 m²) is located on the ground floor of the turret house. It has a double bed (160cm wide) and a large renovated shower room. Lounge area and sofa bed (double bed available on request). A full breakfast (bread, cereals, dairy products, home-made jam, fruit, etc.) is served in the Host dining room. The decoration combines objects from the past with the comfort of a complete renovation.

Lovely stay in the old city center of Avallon

We had an absolute lovely and relaxed stay at the House of Noble Nicolas-Jules. Hubert and Chantal are very welcoming and make you feel at home. The house has a very characteristic appearance with a great garden with a beautiful view. Every morning a delicious breakfast was provided by Chantal. Our kids enjoyed themselves with the swimming pool, the table tennis table and the numerous boardgames available. Avallon is a nice town with several nice restaurants at walking distance. In the neighbourhood you can visit Vezelay (recommended!), visit a castle or cave or go for a walk (for example near Quarre-les-Tombes).

Un lieu au charme authentique

Je connaissais déjà ces lieux. Depuis il y a eu des rénovations faites en respectant l'authenticité des lieux. Dedans ou dehors, partout où le regard se porte, on est charmé. Très bon petit déjeuner avec une confiture d'abricot exceptionnelle !

Très belle maison de vacances

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour dans cette grande maison nichée dans une petite ruelle très calme mais bien située au cœur de la ville. La chambre avec la salle de bain et l‘ensemble est décorée avec beaucoup de goût. Les propriétaires sont très ouverts et sympathiques: l’accueil est chaleureux, attentionné et plein d‘une bienveillance discrète. La belle piscine a particulièrement plu aux enfants et nous remercions les propriétaires de tout cœur. Le petit-déjeuner est copieux avec de très bons produits faits maison. Très bon emplacement pour une découverte de la région. À recommander!

Plus qu'une chambre, cest une grande chambre avec petit salon et salle de bain, petit électroménager à disposition. Un petit espace cuisiniere est dispo dehors ce qui est bien pratique. Tres bon accueil, superbe vue, très bien avec un enfant ! Encore merci pour ces belles vacances

Mooi en rustig verblijf in een mooi historisch stadje

Vriendelijke ontvangst, lieve mensen met veel uitleg en tips over de omgeving. Mooi uitzicht op de omgeving vanuit de tuin met zwembad en vanuit onze kamers. Avallon is een leuk rustig stadje met mogelijke uitstapjes naar Vezelay, Semur en Auxois, Chablis...

Magnifique calme au milieu du centre médiéval

Profitez de belles chambres dans une maison médiévale élégamment restaurée. Les propriétaires ont mis leur âme dans la maison et ça se ressent vraiment. Les chambres sont spacieuses et confortables et vous font rêver dans le passé. Si, après un délicieux petit-déjeuner bien servi, vous souhaitez également cuisiner vous-même, une cuisine et un barbecue adjacents vous attendent dans le magnifique jardin. Un endroit idéal pour profiter de la paix et de la tranquillité au milieu de la ville. L'hôtesse et l'hôte sympathiques se feront un plaisir de vous donner des conseils pour découvrir la région.

Heerlijk tot rust komen

De kamers zijn ruim en karaktervol. Het ontbijt was lekker en gevarieerd. In de tuin kan je heerlijk wegdromen en het uitzicht is er adembenemend. Ook onze kleine peuter kwam hier niets tekort. Dank u, Chantal en Hubert, voor alle goede zorgen.

In the medieval quarter

Big independent room in the garden of a very old (medieval) house. The garden was very pretty and had a lovely view of the countryside. Good breakfast included. It is in the medieval quarter, right next to the old town center but also very quiet. You have to park in a public parking.
