"First of all- the room was super great. It was nice having a full kitchen and a living room area, and it was clean and nicely decorated. The bed was clean and comfortable enough. Having a washer and dryer in the room was awesome.
What was not clear from Expedia is that The Code is not really a hotel, it is condos that are being air bnb'ed by a company called Avant. This was slightly weird, because it wasn't really set up like a hotel. Cleaning during your stay is an extra fee, and there's not much info available on amenities or anything else.
Parking was weird-I got a message saying that there was no stopping on Lamar, where The Code is located, but giving no indications on where you could park to check in. You have to check in to access the garage- but you can't park to check in, it's like a riddle! I parked illegally and got my key card. Next, I was asked to scan a QR code to pay for parking before I could leave my car, but there is no wifi in the garage, so there's no way to make that work. I was told it was valet parking and left my keys with the front desk, and when I went to the garage the next day, a kid gave me my own keys and pointed to where I had parked my car the night before. I am not sure if that is what a valet does. Since the parking was not jack-and-jill or tandem parking, I was not sure why it was necessary. On the second day, I found out I could self park. I never found out what the pool hours were. It's a mystery!"
