The castle was a perfect spot on the lake to enjoy a weekend with the guys. The house is very unique and filled with history in every room. We enjoyed using all the great amenities this place has to offer. Jeff was a great host who was available and accommodating whenever we needed him. We would love to come back for another stay.

Girls Getaway

Our friend group was looking for a getaway location with beautiful views and enough beds for us to all sleep comfortably. Jeff’s property offered that and a fully equipped kitchen that we took great advantage of. The castle has lots of nicknacks that are really interesting and the sunset view can’t be beat.

We booked this unique find to stay while we celebrated my birthday. This was very close to the restaurants and events we planned to visit. The views were excellent and the water access second to none.

Perfect Birthday Celebration

We LOVED our stay! The home embodied the true “Keep Austin Weird” spirit, had everything we could’ve needed during our stay, easy access to the Lake, and Jeff was so responsive to my question, and Jeff checked in on our needs prior and throughout our stay. 10/10 would recommend a stay here!

Amazing and unique house

Family and friends had a wonderful stay at the castle. The house is just amazing and so unique. Loved spending time enjoying the sun and views on the 2 spacious balconies and the rooftop. We also enjoyed barbecuing on the superb barbecue unit in the shade in the lovely courtyard.

Beautiful Lake View

Jeff's place has some of the best views of Lake Travis around. The pictures don't do it justice. It's a fun and funky place and Jeff's hospitality is truly unparalleled. He was inviting and relaxed which made us feel comfortable and at ease for a super fun weekend away.

The castle was an awesome property with an even more awesome host!! This house accommodated me and my group very well and made my birthday celebration super fun for me and my friends. Going to have to make this a tradition starting from here on out any book every summer! Best rental on the lake by far

Our Stay at the Castle

This was our 4th time returning to the castle in 4 years. Jeff has been an amazing host from day 1. He is available 24/7 and always ready to lend a helping hand. He helps you check in, provides a tour and answers any questions right off the bat. The property is awesome with a great view on multiple levels and a couple of really cool hang out areas. We’re already looking into our stay for year 5 and can’t wait to come back! Can’t go wrong when booking a stay at the castle!

To start off the owner is a very gracious person and was always there if you had any issues. The property is a very neat place with a lot of interesting items around to check out. We did happen to show up during a flood and got a lot of time to spend in the home and overall was nice but cooking was a challenge with pots and pans being very worn out and the grills needing some maintenance and the knives could barely cut butter. The disposal had a really bad smell. Overall we were able to make things work with what was there. The shower heads upstairs need updated, and the refrigerator had no water pressure. I know these are super small things but just a mention. We did bring our boat though and planned to use at the lake but there was definitely no where we could have even parked it at the dock. The walk way down from the house to the dock is not an easy task especially if you have any elderly or very young. The dock ramp is sketchy with only a 2x12” for the access to the dock so not real easy to access. The dock was also very messy. The rooftop was a neat area but it was kind of a bone yard of broken stuff and is not an easy stair way to get to. There is what we would call very limited parking especially if you intend to have up to the 10 guests it can hold easily. The guide that lives in the downstairs in the house was very friendly. Decent interesting place. Does need some maintenance.

We left after 12 hours

I really hope to hear back from you soon! My 50th birthday was ruined. Dog poop on the floor, non working refrigerator/stove/microwave, back door did not lock, dirty beds and the list could go on. We unpacked and “tried” to make the best of the weekend—until we had to listen to the property owner and another man screaming at each other over night where 5 out of the 8 women were refusing to stay another minute. We bought $500 worth of groceries to make a huge birthday feast and cake…..both ruined due to refrigerator not getting cold and stove not working properly to bake.

Authentic to Austin vibe

Pros: Property can adequately accommodate large parties. Good location and beautiful views. Very friendly and accommodating host. He was available to us 24/7. Eclectic decor. Lots to look at and owner was very generous letting us use all things on property, grills, smokers, binoculars, speakers, fire pits etc. Cons: The kitchenware needs to be updated. Pots and pans had not been properly cleaned before being stored. Tons of plastic plates and cups were provided but they were very well used. Bathroom towels need to be updated. We visited when the lake was 80%full. We had decided not to use the boat because the dock was inaccessible. The owners description on the challenges on accessing the doc is accurate. The rooftop on the property needs some love. It was not as described in the video. Not a home for young, unattended, children. This is great home for large, young adult groups. It’s an experience and adventure. Little bit crazy but definitely kind of cool. Definitely authentic to the Austin vibe!

A uniquely cool property

My family joined our friends at the Castle house on Father’s Day weekend. We had a wonderful time. Our host Jeff was very helpful and kind. We were able to access the lake very easily and enjoy taking the boat out. The house comfortably fit all nine of us and was very clean and well stocked. We will definitely book the Castle house again!

Awesome Castle on the lake

I have had staying in a castle on my bucketlist for years and I was excited to find one in the Austin area. It's beautiful, comfortable, and has a ton of room. The view is incredible!
