Very much a historical hotel in the style of last century's Scandinavian seaside hotels. Most rooms share a single bathroom per wing, but the facilities are clean and private, and there is rarely a wait. Within easy walking distance of the ferry and bus. No dining included, but dining is available nearby.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Better than expected because they have refurbished since the property photos were taken. Basic room but clean and comfy. Stunning view of the waterfalls from our window. Bathroom door handle was loose and squeaky.
Very beautiful place, away from everything. Restaurants are very good. Some staff were extremely friendly and helpful (Michaela) others so so.
Rooms were cute. Wifi DID NOT WORK IN ROOlM.
They don’t give toiletries, so bring all the soaps etc.
you cannot get enough of the view! You can catch the shuttle here from the train station. If you catch a taxi (because there are no Ubers here) you must get dropped at the restaurant area building 43! Read your email! Or you will end up walking a far way. You can buy tickets for the ferry and shuttle at by reception and gift shop. This place is a tour stop for cruise ships and tours, so be prepared for the daytime traffic. In the evening when they leave it’s peaceful again.
I would definitely come back here again.
This was a beautiful place, right at a famous fjord. With waterfalls coming down all around, a nice restaurant and a really nice reasonable priced gift store. We loved it there!
great location , right in the mouth of the fjord and cruise stop . wonderful cottages with full kitchen . Nice restaurant and bar in the main building. would recommend this hotel for couples, families. great scenic location
Our room was very clean and spacious with a beautiful view. We liked that it was within a walkable distance to the Viking Village. Very nice scenery and nice and quiet.
I stayed a few nights here before a guided hike through the fiord. The room was small but newly renovated and very clean. Would certainly stay here again
We had a larger room with private bathroom. Excellent view of the sounding mountains with waterfalls. Friendly staff. Coffee and tea available in the lobby to serve yourself. Very basic accommodation but clean and tidy for a budget hotel. Overall, we enjoyed our stay there.
Other than that its expensive to take the bus to go and leave the place (160 NOK, for a 20 min ride to go to Flam), I loved it!! Extremely clean and the staff was just amazing, loved my stay, very comfortable room and very beautiful place.
There’s a mini fridge in the room and a grocery store/gas station Joker right across the river, a few steps away.
This was more like a hostel -- showers and toilets down the hall which didn't bother me one bit, just unexpected. The location was good and there were good food options nearby. The setting was truly lovely -- who couldn't love opening the window to waterfalls cascading nearby mountains!
Good spot for a quick stop off on the way to Bergen - I was pleasantly surprised with how clean and comfortable the rooms and shared facilities were as I normally don’t book a shared bathroom but everything else was booked out. Staff didn’t have much info to share in travel options which, given it’s the main function of the towm, seemed odd.
The bakery was great and the main hotel did a lovely breakfast.
Very comfortable hotel room. There was a washer/drier, which is a real plus. Biggest negative is that it is really confusing where to check in to the hotel-- it is not at the hotel but in another area about 100 meters away.

Perfect setting for a Lee Child novel.
This hotel would be the perfect setting for a Lee Child novel. But it was also very comfortable and clean after a long day’s travel, and the staff were helpful. Very mainstream touristic area, with Viking park and outlet store, so not fully my cup of tea. Beautiful fjord however.

Our room in the budget hotel had a wonderful view of the waterfalls. The room was small but perfectly adequate for our needs. The bathroom facilities are shared but as we appeared to be the only guests it was not a problem and the showers are fantastic. It is only a very short walk to the ferry and bus terminal. Meals are available at the more upmarket sister hotel. The nearby Viking Village is a must see.
