The Maine Evergreen is husband and wife owned and they are very professional and courteous. Very accommodating! I would definitely recommend this place to others !

This was kind of an odd hotel. It felt like a motel that was attempting to be an upscale hotel. The room opened directly to outside, although you took an elevator to the 2nd floor and went through some indoor halls first to get to the door which was outside. The room felt a little chilly due to a not that strong door. The shower was hard to use---you had to pull up very hard on a flimsy rod to make it stay on. The sheets were wonderfully smooth. There weren't enough blankets. The room was quite small and the bathroom tiny. The halls were pretty---I liked the art. The breakfast was not that bad, and it was nice there was coffee, tea and cocoa always available. The place felt empty the night we were there.

No power outlets in or near night stand . Charging station on night stand did not have newer phone capabilities. Bed and pillows were very firm. Room 101 is extremely noisy due to traffic in and out ( and this was before the storm crews arrived). Breakfast hours starting at 6:30 is not conducive for business travelers. Payment hold for security will not be lifted until after seven business days . General Manager misspoke when stating that it would be lifted next day and appears to busy to return calls. Average property within the Ascend Collection. First time staying at this property and it will not be a future choice for the area.

Very Nice Property, and art gallery and the staff is very good, however, for the price paid (close to $200 for one night). There were some things they need to address. The tub didn't drain so you stand in water for the duration of your shower. The bed frame was squeaky so any time you moved it would wake you up. They text you at 8:15 am to ask you when you are checking out. (I was asleep) They call you 5 minutes after you check in to ask if everything is satisfactory, (if it wasn't I would have called them) Tv remote barely worked The basic rooms on the first floor are outside entrance rooms, which is more like a motel, and you have to pay extra for an interior entrance room. You have to pay $20 to check in an hour early, and $40 more to check in at noon. (nickle and diming) The top floor says there is ice machine and drinks near the elevator, but there is no vending machine, there is only an icemaker which thankfully worked. I know some of these things are minor, but when you pay $200 for a room at a motel/hotel in a smaller Maine town, you don't expect to have to deal with these kinds of things. $100 is a much more reasonable price in my opinion. That said the room was clean, quiet, and adequately stocked with towels. the shower water was HOT, and water pressure was good, though not really strong enough to utlize the showerhead massage setting.

Best hotel experience!
We had a wonderful experience with our stay at Maine Evergreen Hotel. Beyond our expectations! Every member of the staff was so welcoming and accommodating. The breakfast offerings and evening appetizers were a nice extra. The rooms and all areas were super clean and well appointed. We really appreciated the Maine touches which were really lovely, not tacky. Why would anyone stay at the larger chain hotels when you can enjoy all the personal touches this hotel has to offer! We loved our stay and look forward to returning!
