A perfect Gite to explore Normandy

We stayed at Le Jardin du Marais last week. Paul & Odile are very welcoming hosts with plenty of recommendations for places to visit, they have lots of information and maps in the house to browse through. This is a really lovely Gite set in beautiful, huge, gardens complete with resident chickens which our children loved! The eggs were delicious! The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It is very well located to explore all that Normandy has to offer, just 5 minutes drive to the main road and you are on route to destinations very quickly. To name a few we visited Le Mont St Michel (leave the Gite at 7am to arrive at 8.30am to beat the crowds!), Bayeux, Arromanche, Port-en-Bessin, Pointe du Hoc and many, many more places of interest. Utah beach and Ravenoville beach are only a few kilometres from the house so perfect for an evening stroll to see the oyster beds at low tide! We thoroughly recommend this house! Schöne, ruhige Ferien

Wir verbrachten im August eine tolle Woche in der Normandie. Der Empfang war sehr nett, wir wurden sogar mit einem kleinen Geschenkkorb versorgt. Das Haus ist sehr hübsch, es hat an absolut nichts gefehlt! Auch der Garten ist toll angelegt (inklusive Tischtennisplatte, welche wir gerne benutzen), sodass wir schöne, ruhige Tage genossen.

Très bon séjour dans un adorable gîte tout confort. Merci à Paul pour son accueil et ses conseils. Feu de bois hyper appréciable en cette saison et fonctionnalité de la maison joliment agencée au top. La mer à proximité et le vert de la campagne tout autour de la maison a été très appréciable et ressourçant. On reviendra!

Le gîte est conforme à la description et est très bien équipé (surtout pour la cuisine). Nous avons été très bien reçus par nos hôtes et le petit panier d'accueil est une délicate attention. Ce gîte est bien situé pour les visites tout en profitant du calme de la campagne. Le très joli jardin des propriétaires attenant à la location participe au sentiment de calme et de tranquilité.

Bel emplacement, au calme, pour découvrir les différents sites

Séjour de quelques jours avec 2 ados qui nous a donné envie de revenir pour découvrir la région et son histoire. Le gîte est idéalement placé et très bien équipé , les propriétaires ont à coeur de partager des informations sur la région et l'histoire du lieu. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir !

Sehr schönes Ferienhaus mit wunderbarem Garten

Wir haben eine Woche in dem sehr schönen Ferienhaus verbracht. Paul und Odile sind supernette und hilfsbereite Vermieter. Wir wurden mit einem Korb voller Leckereien herzlich begrüßt. Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet und das gesamte Häuschen sehr gemütlich eingerichtet. Die Matratzen sind sehr bequem! Es gibt viele Spiele für verschiedene Altersstufen und im Garten stehen eine Tischtennisplatte und eine Schaukel, die wir gerne genutzt haben. Ebenso stand uns ein Kugelgrill mit umfassenden Zubehör zu Verfügung, was uns sehr gefreut hat. Der Garten von Paul und Odile ist traumhaft schön, unsere Kinder haben täglich die Hühner besucht. In dieser friedvollen Umgebung kann man wunderbar entspannen!

Zalig genieten in een botanische tuin!

We hebben een heerlijk weekje gehad in deze Gîte. De prachtige tuin en mooie ruimere omgeving zorgen voor een echt vakantie-gevoel. Het is een ideale uitvalsbasis om La Manche te verkennen: de uitgestrekte stranden van D-day, de talrijke interessante musea, gezellige dorpjes en prachtige natuur met vele fiets- en wandelmogelijkheden liggen allen dichtbij. Het huisje is net ruim genoeg voor 2 volwassenen en 2 tieners. Het is goed onderhouden en is voorzien van alles wat je nodig hebt. Het enige minpuntje is dat de badkamer wat muffig rook en nogal ver van de slaapkamers ligt. Ook is de toegang tot het terras wat onpraktisch: je moet vanuit de keuken het huisje omlopen om op het terras te komen. Maar wij hadden hier op zich geen moeite mee en namen dit er graag bij. De bedden zijn comfortabel en netjes gedekt bij aankomst, wat ook heel handig is. Ook badlinnen wordt voorzien. Dat bespaart toch een hele hoop verhuis en gedoe. We werden hartelijk onthaald door de gastheer en -vrouw, kregen van hen uitgebreide informatie over de streek en een mandje met streekproducten aangeboden. We konden gedurende ons verblijf steeds bij hen terecht met vragen. Paul voorzag ons van een groot garnalen-net waar onze tienerzonen zich goed mee hebben vermaakt in zee! Er is ook een pingpongtafel en speeltuig in de tuin waar kinderen zich goed kunnen mee uitleven. In het huisje zijn ook talrijke spelletjes en boeken voorzien. Kortom, een aanrader voor jong en oud!

A great Place

The cottage was great. It was clean, good location to Day 75 events and Paul and Odile were great host and hostess. They greeted us with a basket of goodies and we so much appreciated it. We loved the garden and now have some good friends. Such a beautiful stay in your cottage, thank you!

Hidden gem in the French countryside

The pictures of this gite and garden do not do it justice! The garden is magical with all it wonderful colours and scents. Their is an area for the children to play and a choice of areas to sit to make the most of the sunshine. The gite itself is nicely furnished and has everything a family would need, it was clean tidy a big space to park out front. Paul and Odile were lovely very welcoming and always made sure we were okay. Our children loved them and the cat Lune they make amazing hosts. Definitely looking forward to returning next year and we will practise our French! Thank you for a wonderful stay x

Relaxen

We hebben met z’n vijven een heerlijke week doorgebracht in deze Gite. Het weer was goed. De omgeving verkend . En natuurlijk WOII lokatie bezocht die ee nog niet gezien hadden. Het huisje is niet heel groot , maar alles wat je nodig hebt is aanwezig . De eigenaren zijn aardig. Met 6 volwassenen zijn de slaapplaatsen niet toereikend. Met z’n vijven wad het prima. Het was een heerlijke relaxe week in een mooi huisje en een mooie omgeving. Voor herhaling vatbaar.

We hebben genoten van de rust tijdens onze week in de paasvakantie. Zeer mooie, gezellige en comfortabele gîte. Netjes en prima uitgerust. Simply stunning !!!

We can't thank Paul and Odile enough for allowing us to come and stay at this beautiful little idyll. Perfectly placed for exploring all The Manche region has to offer as well as the rest of Normandy. Lovely and quiet with stunning views and lovely countryside with the fact you're only 2 miles from Utah beach. The accommodation was perfect for us (couple) but there is plenty of room for more in the well appointed 2nd bedroom. Just a perfect spot for chilling out and enjoying Normandy, we can't wait to go back again and Paul and Odile are just the best, we arrived to be greeted with fresh eggs from the chickens, local cider and home made jam, what more could you ask for !!

Excellent séjour

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour, reçus par des hôtes chaleureux et extrêmement discrets dans un joli cottage bien décoré et bien équipé. Le jardin est merveilleux et les oeufs des poules tout frais et bio, ainsi que les délicieuses tomates. Le panier de bienvenue est un très agréable plus. Le gîte est idéalement situé pour visiter la région et même jusqu'au Mont St-Michel sans passer des heures en voiture, les plages sont belles et immenses. Merci encore à Odile et Paul pour ce séjour qui nous a permis de nous déconnecter et de nous ressourcer.

Fantastisch huisje!

We werden ontzettend hartelijk ontvangen door de eigenaars Paul en Odile. Welkomstmandje met lokale producten stond al klaar. Heel hartelijke en lieve mensen. Het huis bevat werkelijk alles! Kan niets bedenken wat er zou ontbreken! Prima bedden, prima douche en heel gezellig ingericht. Wifi werkte perfect. Komen hier graag nog eens terug, echt een aanrader!

Een heerlijke plek in een zeer gastvrije omgeving

Wij zijn hier begin mei 2017 een week met onze dochter (3) geweest. Het huisje is zeer sfeervol en voorzien van alle praktische zaken (alleen de wifi werkte helaas zeer slecht tijdens ons verblijf). De tuin is groot en leuk voor kinderen, helemaal af- en ingesloten dus veilig en redelijk windvrij. De aangrenzende siertuin is prachtig (zeker in de zomer) en het is leuk om de kippen te voeren en/of eieren te rapen. Helaas hadden wij maar een dag echt goed weer... De eigenaren zijn zeer vriendelijk en uitermate gastvrij. Wat ons betreft een echte aanrader!
