We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - our hosts were lovely and set up a beautiful breakfast. The accommodation itself was also beautiful and the views were stunning. We will definitely be returning at some point and this time we will book their private dining dinner in advance :)

We had 3 wonderful nights at Te Whau Lodge to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. From meeting us at the ferry terminal at Waiheki Island to dropping us back 4 days later, Chris & Teara were delightful. Our room was spacious yet private with lovely ammenities, breathtaking views and was both spotless & comfortable. We enjoyed a delicious anniversary dinner, nightly canapes & daily 4 course breakfasts. Guests can be as sociable or not with the few other guests and Chris & Teara are tremendously flexible hosts. Although a Luxury property it is relaxed and unpretentious. Our stay was an indulgance for us both and we were not disapointed. Aside from the promised inclusions in our tarrif, there were lots of unexpected personal extras that made it even more special. Overall the stay exceeded any expectations and we would definately return to Te Whau Lodge.

Absolutely the best stay we have ever had in any resort or hotel. The hospitality, the views, the breakfast... I could go on and on about this Lodge. It is absolutely a five star stay. I can officially say out of our entire visit in New Zealand from the North to the South of this country this was still the very best place we stayed!

The lodge is exactly shown as in the photos - the views from the balcony is amazing, we love watching the sunset from our room. Rob and Marg were amazing hosts, who laid out lovely breakfast and turn down service everyday. We had a lovely stay on at the lodge.

A slice of Perfection!
My wife and I stayed here after doing quite a bit of research on places to visit on the north island. The area is like Napa Valley on a perfect island. We had the opportunity to meet the owner during our stay and really enjoyed the hospitality of the entire team. The views are wonderful, breakfast is fantastic, and for people not from the area they go up and above to help you plan your day and recommend places to visit and see. We absolutely will come back to visit on our next trip to New Zealand!

Our hosts, Marg and Rob, were exemplary - personable, professional and very attentive to our needs. Delicious canapes with a glass of wine each night, refreshingly-healthy breakfasts and beautifully comfortable rooms and bed - what more could you need?? A view - they've got that covered too - perfect for watching the magical sunsets. We'll definitely return.

Fabulous modern facilities, amazing views & the hosts are just amazing, naturally engaging & warm friendly people, very knowledgeable about the island & always available to assist however required & able to drive guests around or organize quality local drivers, very handy on an island full of great vineyard & dining options. What a fabulous time we had!

What an amazing place! We had a great time with the owners at Te Whau, lovely spot, great food and hospitality! For people who don’t know the island it is a distance from the main town, so you may need transport on the island but everything about this place is magic! Owners attention to detail and little touches made the whole stay amazing!

It’s fabulous! Fantastic location with ever changing views. The owners r lovely and engaging. Breakfast and evening canapés not to b missed. Plenty of restaurants within a short distance. Rent a car. It’s not hard driving on the left on the island. Will definitely return.

A stunning location with every suite looking out over the water. Owners take care to a new level with quality of food and wine. Room immaculate as well as longes. Highly recommend

Luxury lodge with amazing views
Te Whau lodge was all I hoped it would be and more. Not on a beach but high up on Waiheke Island with many views of bays and in the distance Rangitoto Island and greater Auckland. Our room was spacious, elegantly decorated and had a deck out over native bush and plants. We were greeted very warmly by our hostess, Marge and she showed us the areas in the lodge where we could relax outside our own room. Breakfasts were works of art and changed daily. She catered for our dietary needs with healthy granolas, smoothies and imaginative egg based concoctions. We were well and truly pampered.

Beautiful lodge overlooking exquisite Omiha Bay
Our stay at Te Whau lodge was outstanding in everyway . The lodge overlooks the beautiful Omiha bay. The Lodge itself, including rooms and communal areas was just wonderful , The hosts were warm , hospitable , generous and could not have done more for us to make our stay as comfortable as possible .The breakfasts were healthy and delicious and all in all we loved every moment of our stay . We will be back again.

Grant and his family (Marg, Rob and Judy) were exceptional hosts at this beautiful location. I can’t say enough for their hospitality, food quaility and helpfulness. The view, however, was out of this world. I rarely give reviews for any stay but this one is worth it to complement the family for a wonderful stay. My wife and only regret not having more time to stay more nights.

Marg and Rob were amazing hosts. They arrange canapes and drinks in the evening with all the guests and are more than happy to give you recommendations of Waiheke Island and even book restaurants on your behalf. They provide a turndown service and prepare port on your return! We sat in the dark sipping port and star gazed peacefully with binoculars provided. Each room had stunning views over the water and Auckland in the distance. Everything is very well thought out and feels (even smells!) luxurious. Snacks are complementary but minibar alcohol is extra. Only down side is as it is isolated you may need to watch for ants.

I rarely if ever give 5 stars across the board. Te Whau lived up and exceeded it reputation. Marg and Rob are fabulous at making you feel at home, providing local reservations and information and their breakfasts and canapes are delicious.

Te Whau was a lovely boutique lodge with a great view overlooking the bay on Waiheke Island. The owners of the lodge were incredibly hospitable, offering restaurant recommendations and ensuring we were comfortable. Although they said they weren't chefs, the breakfast each morning and canapes in the evening were delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Waiheke and a lot of that was due to our experience at Te Whau Lodge.

A Perfect Accommodation
My wife and I spent two nights in Te Whau Lodge during our 3 week long honeymoon in New Zealand and it was amazing. The view, privacy, location and serenity of this property was a 10. Not to mention the managers, Marg and Rob. They were so welcoming and Marg is an absolute sweetheart. She recommended restaurants that were suited to us and made the reservations. We wanted massages and she contacted a service that sent two massage therapists to set up in our room and they were AMAZING. Marg and Rob hosted light appetizers and beverages every evening at 6:30 and it was so nice to meet and speak with the other guests, as well as Marg and Rob. They also made breakfast every morning at our desired time in the dining room, it was delicious. Because this lodge has only 4 units, it is extremely intimate. It was lovely and perfect for what we were looking for. We wish we would have allotted more days in Waiheke Island but that was most likely due to our accommodations. We hope to someday return!

Good Lodge but disappointing experience
The lodge is very nice, room is excellent, view is amazing, service is great but our experience ended very bad as they ripped us off. We stayed just 1 night. They kindly offered us the pick up on the ferry by email, and they did not mention any fee for this service. We thought it was included in the room price as it was already very expensive. After that many times they offer to drop us somewhere or pick up, like when we were going to rent a car, Rob (the owner) was going to drop some people at the ferry so they said we could go together. They keep asking us every time what we were planning to do and offering this “help”. Other time we have to return the car and as Rob was cooking the breakfast, so they offered that other guy could pick us there. Any moment they mentioned any fee! At the checkout, they give us the bill and we were charged for every transfer a very high price, even for Rob service, and for the other guy it was twice the price ($45 for each transfer)! We were very angry, upset and disappointed as we felt we eripped off. We rented a car for 1 day only but with the amount we payed if they informed us we had rented a rent a car for 2 days already when we arrived I at the ferry, and we did not need their “help” any time. It was cheaper and more comfortable to us to go anywhere any time. We said that we were very upset because they did not mention that this service was charged and they just said: I am sorry for that, we forgot to say.

Einzigartiger Blick und ganz tolle Gastgeber!
Wir wurden von den Eigentümern ganz herzlichst empfangen! Von unserem Zimmer aus, hatten wir einen traumhaften Blick über die Insel. Die Gastgeber kümmern sich sehr um Ihre Gäste und zwar mit Liebe zum Detail (Canapés auf der Terrasse, ein Betthüpfel). Das Frühstück war hervorragend!
