Had a great check. Warm and friendly staff. However I dont think this is value for money. Rooms a well worn and tired. One lift is getting worked on.
Just dont see how grand this place is when it comes to value for money. I'd suggest management should do room inspections and see that a little maintenance and touching up would go a long way. (Cupboards squeak ans dont align, paint has worn off in places, walls have lots of marks etc).

Valet quite a problem - couldn’t get the phone answered then when we finally got through nil action to get the car ready. I now have two holds against my credit card for costs. One lift out of order so long wait for lift.

The property and overall the employees were fantastic with one exception, my flight was delayed and I arrived late at the hotel i was standing there with my suitcase at the door and knocked on the locked door to an employee who acted like i was invisible! this was something that i found to be totally unacceptable a person who obviously was holding a room reservation and you act like you don't want to help out!

The property was under construction, which was not mentioned ahead of time. Some of the parts of the room were in poor repair, such as the toilet paper holder, which was barely hanging onto the wall. We were not offered a VIP Gold upgrade. Staff also forced us to split our two-room single booking into two bills, despite having booked it together. The hotel is in a nice location, but not remotely worth the money.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Grand by Sky City. Our room was very clean and quite roomy. The staff was super friendly and helpful. There are several restaurants in the hotel or plenty to chose from within easy walking distance for all your dining needs. The area is very safe and clean. The hotel is right across the street from Sky Tower. Easy walk to shopping and about a 15 minute walk to the waterfront.

Dining in the restaurant was a memorable experience. The dishes were unique and beautifully prepared, especially the lamb shanks in coconut sauce and the roasted carrots with cashews and cumin. The wait staff were very attentive and we felt well taken care of.

The Grand was the perfect location for the start of our New Zealand adventure. The location and view are fantastic right next to the Sky Tower. The staff was attentive and friendly always offering help. Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated. Good in room amenities.

Great hotel with really comfy beds, lovely bathrooms, and most importantly located near to great restaurants! Really convenient if coming from Auckland airport, as the Skylink bus drops you just around the corner. For breakfast we'd highly recommend Scratch bakery, a short walk away.

This was our last hotel after a month in NZ and it was certainly the best! Spotless facility, great staff and an amazing location. It is also reasonably priced for what you get. Location is also great as it is a quick walk everywhere.

Hotel was wonderful in every way. We arrived from Avery long flight. The hotel let us check in early and upgraded us. The view was spectacular. The pool,hot tub and sauna were great. Hotel was right in the middle of downtown and near the port. I would highly recommend it!
