I wish I could live there full-time! Just a gorgeous, gorgeous Villa, perfectly equipped with everything you need, aesthetically elegant, relaxing. Set in grounds that are lush, green, beautifully landscaped, yet authentically New Zealand. Lovely walking trails and a nice pool. my only small quibble would be that the pool is not very large, but that’s a very small detail in the big picture. This is a wonderful place to stay, highly recommend!

Beautiful villa with everything that you will need. We loved that each room had an ensuite. comfortable beds, and a great atmosphere. The staff were friendly and welcoming too!

Unfortunately we where in a disabled unit and something not comfortable with and heating is not sufficient for the size of accomodation but everything else good

Hi Richard - yes, you were in a disabled unit - a fact which was informed to you by us on e mail the day after you booked, as this was our last villa left. We have to have "accessible" units as per Council requirement and that was the only free Villa, being a long weekend.The heating - do wish you had called on our Manager on the intercom and they would have come and fixed the same for you. We checked out the heating after your departure and found that the heating was on 22 and the fan on very low - both these could have been increased. We do hope that you will visit us again, Richard, as our guests love their stay with us and become repeat guests.

Cozy, comfortable villas away from the city
Fantastic getaway stay away from the city. New, modern villas, with lovely view of gardens from 2br villa 1. Close to Matakana, which has several good restaurants, and the coast for park trails and beach access.

Hi ZhengyuanOur apologies for the delay in responding to your review about our “terrible staff”.We received a phone call in the Manager’s Villa at 1030 in the night asking for “towels” – we responded stating that the office was closed and that we would do the needful the next morning. Which we did thinking the towels were required urgently at 8 in the morning – unfortunately we knocked at the door but got no response so left them outside of the villa door and then phoned the villa to inform you about the same.Obviously you were very upset at the above and stated that “no one had telephoned the villa asking for towels” - we did get a call within ten minutes though from your son to apologise as he said mother did not know about the same and in fact he came by to the office too to apologise in person – a very smart and courteous son that you have!Do trust this makes what really happened clearer and apologise for any misunderstanding.

Upon arrival we got the impression the host receptionist didn’t really want us there. Not at all friendly. The bedroom was lacking a TV. it’s quite a way out from matakana township. Whilst there is a restaurant next door it has a poor drink selection. Wouldn’t stay there again, of all the places we previously stayed this was the worst, certainly not value for money

Thank you for taking the time to put down this review. Yes certainly it is correct that there are no televisions installed in the bedrooms - we only have a television in our Lounge - we are surrounded by media at all times in our lives and our reasoning is to keep the bedrooms for relaxation and a beautiful sleep in the country side! Our restaurant next door is a Vineyard Restaurant - we make our own wines - a methode, white wines and red wines and this is what we have on the menu at the restaurant along with some other New Zealand Wines and French Wines - being a Vineyard Restaurant it is our very conscious decision to not sell spirits. Matakana is but a five minutes' drive away from the Villas and the Restaurant Unless it is a Long Weekend when there could be a bit of a traffic jam! We are in the hospitality business and we live for our guests - why then would we give the impression about not wanting our guests here? However, we shall definitely emphasise the greeting and welcoming part once again to our Team

We loved it - what a beautiful, peaceful place. The villas are perfectly designed and the grounds are lovely for wandering around. It’s a luxury experience while also being comfortable and relaxed. Will definitely come here again.

Wonderful accommodations. Great service, clean, and comfortable. Be prepared for the mosquitos. Bring repellent, and they also have some plug ins available in the rooms. Aside from that everything else was lovely.
