Great for overnight stay
Travelled to Auckland for Saturday night event. Oak Tree was perfect for 2 adult, 1 kid stay over. Clean and all basic requirements met.

Missing souvenirs
We told the cleaning lady that we did not want any service, she did anyway, she went in and two tee shirts that I have bought as souvenirs were taken from my suitcase. That was not nice, I should have call the police and I may still do it because they did not have the right to take things from my suitcase. I will never stay there, they do not have a Do not disturb sign for their own convenience. The room was small but clean and very quiet, but I did not appreciate soe one going through my suitcase without permission, if you stay there, have locks in every suitcase with a code. Do not use regular small locks, they can be opened with a hair pin. Very dissapointed, not a very central location, unless you like to walk. A NO, NO for me.

Dear Myrna We are very sorry that we've got your message now. First We have not stole anything at all. All our house keepers are working long time and never had any issues. Anyway your souvenirs have found behind of single size bed headboard. it was two shirts(blue and gray. We try to contact but the number we were given, doesn't work. A place for a business layover....
Hi Everyone, You will be greeted by some of the most polite staff! I must say they have a willingness to provide service on request, and the breakfast they serve was absolutely delicious. The room itself is fine. I stayed in a double/twin (no other rooms available) which was very spacious. The beds, pillows and lined were all very (very) clean. The bathroom was clean on a 9.5 out of 10, as there was some small (but vital) areas not quite up to the overall standard. The size of the bathroom was comfortable - it felt like an ensuite should - not like a 'by the way we need to put a shower and sink in the motel room' afterthought. Some of the amenities showed some wear (counter tops, some dents in the heater, etc) but overall the room was in good condition. I note with some satisfaction (as should the owner) that there were no cobwebs anywhere (one of my pet peeves). This is not a luxury motel - and delivers what it promises, with just a little bit beyond, to make more than worthwhile to the business/traveler on short tips to the big city.

Great experience
Staff so helpful and friendly. Nothing too much trouble. Sightseeing tickets printed without any fuss. Transfer to the airport organised efficiently. Korean owner or manager was able to help with all enquiries. I would recommend this motel to any korean family visiting Auckland. European visitors will find a smiling and very friendly host

Great value.
Very good position for access & closeness to town. Great value ($169) when everybody was charging DOUBLE because of Coldplay concert. Rooms a little dated but very clean & comfortable. Would stay there again.

Great location
Very late check in and hotel was very helpful in working something out so we can get into our room with ease. Room was clean and tidy. Has all the necessities you need and location is awesome. Close to town and motorways if you want to venture out. Helpful & friendly front desk. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice comfortable motel
The room was homely and comfortable, was quite spacious and had good facilities. Only downside was it was quite noisy due to traffic, and a nearby railway track.

Clean and suitable for a short stay.
Room was appropriate for our needs. Free WiFi with easy access appreciated. Lighting was very dark in the room with small Windows. Not much spcace. Very friendly service. Landing stairwell very slippery after the rain.

Location was easy. Damp and VERY musty smelling. Not pleasant! Especially at mid end price wise. Would NOT recommend or stay again!

Would not recommend staying here. The rooms need a complete makeover. Noisy road. We stayed because it was the only hotel available close to the airport( 14 km). We payed $255 for one night . Last minute booking. Won't make that mistake again.

15 minute airport drive.
I stayed at this motel over night in Feb. I found the bed to be really comfortable, the room had e/thing I needed + the chairs were really comfortable, no sagging in the middle! Even though I was in the front, road side, I had no trouble with road noise. Air con works well too.

Good location, good motel
Staying at the Oak Tree Motel was a good experience. Found ourselves close to everywhere we needed to be. The staff were very nice and attentive. Thank you to the manager for allowing us to stay an extra hour and half past our check out time without no charge. The room we had was clean but there was a strange smell though around the room and whenever we opened the fridge. All in all we bought Glen 20 and tried to get rid of the smell in the room and lived with the smell in fridge while we were there.

Staff very freindly, unlimited wifi and air con
Unlimited wifi and air con in room was a godsend, (apparently not all rooms have air con we were lucky). But, the bathroom was not really cleaned properly-could do with a good going over, and clean the mould out of the shower, not enough towels for 3 people - had to ask for extra each day. Shower pressure was fantastic. Toilet was tricky to negotiate as it was behind the door and the room itself was a triangle shape. Kitchen sink tap wasn't tightened onto bench enough causing water to get done between sink and cupboard and had a strong smell of mildew. Not enough kitchen utensils for 3 people. Good location, close to where we were going for the weekend and very easy to negotiate onto motorways, Countdown supermarket about a 5-10 min drive down the road. No dairies or shops close by unless you want to walk a fair distance. Had a couple of smokers staying downstairs and the smell would come through the open windows which was a bit unpleasant.

Comfortable but double glazing would be welcome
A comfortable room and the owners are clearly working to improve the place. A warm welcome too. But the proximity to the motorway was bothersome - no double glazing, and the window at the front could not be locked in a part -open position for fresh air on a warm night. Would choose a place away from Great South Road next time. Oh, and a room for three should have three sets of everything.

Great location and very close to the City and easy to get onto all motorways. Close to airport. Staff was very friendly. Rooms were a great size, clean and comfy with a fridge, microwave and kitchen utensils. Large bathroom. Will be back, hopefully soon.

Location was great.
The room was okay. There was no sink, even though we had dishwashing liquid and pot scrubber. The room was also closest to the road, which was a bit disappointing as the road noise was horrendous and the room was small and stuffy as we had to have the window slightly open for ventilation. Would stay again, but would pick a room near the back. Parking was convenient and the staff were excellent, and the place was reasonably priced.

Great location
Had an enjoyable stay at Oak Tree Motel. Room was well appointed and even though we looked out onto Great South Road, the road noise did not bother us (couldn't really hear it)

Highly reccomend
Really great area, central to everything we wanted to go to. Such as malls, casino and attractions. The train was right behind the motel but it did not disturb us at all. The parking is a little problem as anyone parks anywhere. The towels were changed every day but not the bedding. They would clean the room every day though, dishes, rubish etc but they did not vacum. The customer service was sooo lovely, they even allowed one hour late check out with no charge. We are already planning to return as it's comfy and local to everything. Overall 4 out of 5.

The bathroom had a disgusting smell which you could smell upon entering the main door of the room. I reported it to reception and they seemed surprised. White towels in the bathroom had brown marks - shower caps in boxes looked scruffy. Very noisy location. I thought the room was expensive at $139 per night

Hi I booked this motel as it could accomodate 2 adults and 1 child. The room was musty and the bathroom so small. I also found the room had not been cleaned properly. After some discussion they did move me to another room that was better but I would not go back

Toilet had drip which we told manager, also found bathroom floor after showers very slippery, see bathroom fan on wall but don't how activated unless by light switch, very dirty. Friendly person on the reception desk. Room was tidy and bedding clean. Bathroom needed attention - there was mold in the shower box - a bit of janola needed to clear this. And the vanity was rotting at the bottom. Just needs an upgrade or a bit more elbow grease when cleaning. Otherwise it was pretty good. Would stay again.

Close to all amenties bus train station. Room was a little small for my liking but had a enjoyable stay. Wifi wasnt working well but promptly fixed unfortunately had to ask for more towels as there were only two bath towels and with three girls your going to need more! Overall had a nice stay

Cigarette smoke caused headache, burning eyes.
What would have otherwise been an excellent rating (for the price of the hotel) was wrecked by a room tainted with cigarette smoke. On entering the room, the smell of smoke was obvious. I tried to get rid of the smell by opening the windows for several hours, but the smoke has infused itself in the furnishings and bedding, so could not. On return home, when I took my nightclothes out of the suitcase for a wash, they wreaked of cigarette smoke, an indication of how the bedding itself is stained with the smell. The evening I spent in the room, I tried to work, but the smoke caused a headache, and made my eyes burn. The hotel keeps ash-trays for smokers outside each room. The smell from these then gets sucked into the rooms. Such a simple solution for the hotel management. Get rid of, or move the ashtrays! An otherwise excellent hotel, wrecked by the stench of cigarette smoke.

We are very sorry and smoking inside the room is not allowed to but some people keep smoking inside and we did not notice that Again Sorry for that and we will keep eye on so make sure no one smoke at the room and if so, we will clean the room properly and make sure no smell remained.

Nice place but watch the rooms near the train line
Oak Tree is positioned close to the city by car and easy to find. Unfortunately the rooms at the rear of the motel back onto the train line and can be noisy. No lift to first floor.

the only room in town
Unfortunately, the weekend I needed to be in Auckland, there were many other events on at the same time. Getting a room at a reasonable rate was never going to be easy. The staff (the man behind reception) was very pleasant. The room was basic and functional - had a flat screen tv, 'cuppa' facilities, iron and ironing board in the room without having to ask for them but the bathroom was not as clean as it should have been.....for my $***.** a night I expected a very good level of hygiene. At best it was worth a third of what I paid but I guess it was all about supply and demand. Still....they need to keep the faith with their guests and even if the establishment is a bit more humble.......MAKE SURE IT IS SPOTLESS!!

No security latches on windows so cooked alive. Fan didn't work and still had Asian plug fitted.
