Staff friendly and helpful. The breakfast even described as continental was poor and not with the $24 per person. The best part of the hotel was the bathrooms which have been revamped recently. Just need the rest of the hotel to catch up!

We loved the view from our balcony of the rose garden and park across the street. We arrived in New Zealand at 6:00 in the morning and arrived at the hotel at 8:00. The hotel had a nice waiting area for early guests with a washroom and a place to wash up and refresh after a long flight. We were then ready for a walk to the Auckland Museum. The included breakfast was very good with lots of choices.

Nice restaurant, good food. Friendly helpful staff in both the restaurant and reception. Must give a special mention to Lainey (in training) who was brilliant at helping sort out our taxi for 5.30am to the airport. Always smiling and ready to help. Thanks Lainey.

There was scaffolding outside the window hindering the view. I know work has to be done butcwew weren't told before booking. Room was very nice, but only one comfortable chair in a room that could take 4 people.

The hotel was under construction and very noisy. We had to wait to check in because our room wasn't ready at 3pm. They said our room had been renovated, but it wasn't very modern. Pool was supposed to be back in service when we arrived, but wasn't open. Okay, but not great.

Attractive property with spacious, well appointed rooms, onsite parking included, a lovely outdoor pool area, & good 3rd floor restaurant overlooking the Rose Garden across the street; convenient local bus stops in front - /-10 minutes to downtown. Our only disappointment was that our building was shrouded in scaffolding, & the pool area was closed.

Pool was closed. Construction workers were loud in the morning. Room very clean. Had laundry but only one washing machine working and dryer did not dry well. Nice area.

Generally ok. Stayed a couple of weeks ago and check-in was definitely better this time. Pool closed because they are renovating the building next to the pool. This was annoying as booked again specifically for the fact it had the pool. It will be out of commission for sometime apparently so wouldn't book if you want a pool

This was a great place to stay we walked downtown. Restaurant on site was excellent. New upgraded room was very nice. Under construction so the pool was closed and we had scaffolding outside our window. I would stay again. Staff was excellent.

Realise the place is outdated and appreciate the fact it is now being renovated. We had a basic, budget room, and it certainly does need upgrading - however we booked and stayed due to the convenience, not due to us spending a lot of time in there. Was particularly annoyed that internet connection was still using outdated connections - and wasn't working for us. If I was on business this would have been more critical.

always enjoy to stay here as the parking and getting about the city is easy. Views are nice and I don't feel too cramped or hemmed in. Option of a breakfast if needed which is also good. had lovely newly refurbished room. Excellent stay

The check-in was initially a bit sloppy but improved when additional staff came on desk. The room was comfortable and actually quite nice. Bathroom was a bit outdated and the shower head very short. The water pressure great in shower bath not so good took ages to get any real water in there but to be fair they say on their description that they are currently upgradinging these. The exterior of the rooms was very dirty dark and blocked in. Had a ranch slider but could really use it as the area was blocked in with wooden slats and clearly not maintained. The restaurant was amazing. The staff were very attentive and they made my 3 year old feel great as well. He got his own menu and an activity pack. The food and service I couldn'tfault even with a wedding happening in an adjoining area. There are rose gardens across the street to walk around and the pool area at the complex was amacculate. There is onsite parking. All in all met my needs for a one night stay and would stay again

Great stay
A lovely stay, the room was spacious, the bed so comfy. The staff efficient and helpful. The food delicious. The only issue was children bombing in the pool on several occasions...but that falls down to.parents not supervising

Stay was decent. The hotel fulfilled our need of being close to the Northern Explorer station. There is a nice rose garden right in front that we regret not having time to visit. The room had everything we needed, but the condition of the property needs an update, which I think is on the way.

The staff were friendly and efficient and the room was very clean and comfortable. The property is being refurbished which will make a big difference to the overall feel of the place once complete. The location was convenient and quiet and ideal for events in Parnell or the CBD.
