This is a very special property with air-conditioning, featured in the TV programme "A Place in the Sun". It is a recently restored and externally insulated traditional house, standing in its own private grounds of 3.5 acres including a wonderful 1.2 acre olive grove.
One guest review says, "The most peaceful place we have ever been".

Both house and olive grove view directly on to the Gran Sasso massif rising to just short of 3000m. Although extremely private, lying along a track of around 800m, it is only 3-4 minutes from the ancient pre-Roman town of Atri that has a Cathedral, several magnificent churches, a theatre, an archaeological museum and many cafes, trattorie and restaurants. It is only 10 -15 minutes from the pine-shaded beach at Pineto. At the same time it is just 45 minutes from Castelli and the National Parks around the Gran Sasso that have wonderful summer walking. So you can choose both. A great advantage in the summer is that we are at 400m altitude. So after the heat of the beach, you can return home quickly in the evening, and enjoy the fresh air much better than is possible close to the sea. Sleeping is easy here - especially with the modern air conditioning.

What a view!

This place has a fantastic location! Very quiet for relaxing nights and close enough the Pescara, Pineto and Sylvi. Host is very quick to respond and is a very good person. The only drawback is cleanliness which could benefit from a little more rigor.

Super Urlaub zwischen Bergen und Meer!!

Wir haben als fünfköpfige Familie 3 wunderbare Wochen in diesem gemütlichen Haus mitten in der Natur verbracht. Umgeben von Olivenhainen und der bodenständigen Ursprünglichkeit dieser Region ein absoluter Ruheort und gleichzeitig nur 10-15 Minuten vom Meer entfernt. Alle Zimmer waren sauber, groß genug und wie auf den Bildern dargestellt. Trotz der hohen Temperaturen diesen Sommer haben die Decken-/Ventilatoren ausreichend Abkühlung gebracht und die Moskitonetze an allen Fenstern und Türen vor unliebsamen Mitbewohnern geschützt. Die Zufahrt zum Haus ist über drei Wege problemlos möglich und das Auto kann direkt am Haus auf dem eingezäunten Grundstück abgestellt werden. Die schöne Terrasse mit einem atemberaubenden Ausblick bietet jeden Abend ein Sonnenuntergangspanorama wie von einer Postkarte. Die Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin war schon vor der Buchung sehr nett freundlich und zuvorkommend und blieb es bis nach unserer Reise, vielen Dank für Alles liebe Anna! Als absolute Abruzzenliebhaber können wir dieses Haus zwischen Meer und Bergen nur empfehlen. Es ist optimal gelegen um in alle Richtungen auszuschwärmen und Land und Leute zu erkunden.

Quintessence of Abruzzo

With one of a kind view and secluded, yet convenient location the property offers what you look for in Abruzzo - quiet and tranquillity combined with spectacular mountains and warm sea at your fingertips. The house itself is spacious, fully equipped and can comfortably accomodate 6 adults (big plus for comfy matresses). Number of interesting books and original art pieces give this house unique flavour and "soul". Another worth-metnioning advantage of the property is the surroundings including well arranged yard (perfect for breakfast as well as for a bottle of wine in the evening) and a lot of fruits (figs, limes, grapes) you can get fresh form the trees growing in the garden. The owners have been responsive helpful and all necessary arrangments went smoothly. All together our stay have really been a great pleasure and we would definitely recommend it to everyone.

Bisher unsere schlechteste Erfahrung in Sachen Urlaub

Die bei Fewo angegebene Adresse ist nicht korrekt man bekommt erst nach der kompletten Bezahlung in einer Mail die genauen Koordinaten des Hauses Diese Mail kam leider nie bei uns an Die Vermieterin hat auch nach mehrmaliger Nachfrage von uns per Mail nicht geantwortet. Vor Ort haben wir uns dann bei den Bewohnern des Ortes durchgefragt Als wir dann endlich wussten wo das Haus steht war der Schock über den Zufahrtsweg groß. Riesige Steine und tiefe Furchen in Hanglage ziehen sich fast durch den kompletten Weg . Wenn man den Weg vom Haus nach oben zur Straße nimmt muss man mit etwas Schwung fahren sonst kommt man nicht rauf und bleibt stecken. Das hat zur Folge das man durch den Schwung die großen Steine ans Auto schleudert. Im Haus haben wir dann eine Wegbeschreibung der Vermieter gefunden in der der Weg als etwas holprig beschrieben war Eine absolute Untertreibung! Wir haben dann noch einen anderen in der Beschreibung erwähnten Weg versucht. Danach war das ganze Auto zerkratzt Das Haus selbst riecht extrem modrig. Das abgebildete Schlafzimmer mit Dusche riecht am stärksten und hat Schimmelflecken an der Decke. Die Küche ist ebenfalls nicht sauber. Es befand sich gebrauchtes Geschirr im Schrank und die Schränke sind von Innen fettverklebt und staubig. Wir sind aufgrund der unmöglichen Zufahrt am 3. Tag abgereist da wir befürchten mussten das unser Auto noch größeren Schaden nimmt . Unser Auto war in der Werkstatt und hat einen Schaden von 500 Euro. Wir waren während den 3 Tagen in dauerndem Mailkontakt mit der Vermieterin Sie hat sehr schnell geschrieben das wir ja gern bleiben könnten da wir für 12 Tage bezahlt ist. Sollten wir jedoch früher abreisen wäre das unser Problem und natürlich gibt es kein Geld zurück und auch der Schaden am Auto sei unser Problem. Nie wieder!!

With two ways to reach the property we were quite fortunate to find our home in a very secluded area that happened to be on the edge of a UNESCO site, the Calanchi of Asti. Beautiful view of the mountains out of every window. Very relaxing in the early morning and evenings... A pleasure to hike around the area!

Fabulous house with incredible views. Utterly peaceful and relaxing!

We would go back here any time! The house is very clean and well-equipped with a good kitchen, excellent beds and nice dining table and lounge. Most of all it is very private and utterly peaceful. It feels like stepping into another world even though it is only a couple of hundred metres from the road. The views are completely stunning! We found that it worked much better than actually being at the beach because the air is fresher away from the coast and it's much easier to sleep well. In fact very well! We usually had morning coffee on the balcony and evening drink in the porch looking straight out at the mountains. We went to the beach at Pineto about 10km away, and shopping and restaurants were easy in Atri. There's a good cathedral there and even a theatre right on the square which is good for coffee.

A wonderful view from the terrace

Now we have returned to Denmark from our summer holidays in Abruzzo. We would like to thank you for renting your wonderful house near Atri for one week. The view from the house to Gran Sasso is quite exceptionel and we enjoyed every minute we spent at the terrace.
