Acropolis Charming Apt with Large Balcony - DM17

Apartment DM17 is a cosy apartment with a spacious terrace located in the creative and charming neighbourhood of Koukaki.

This fourth floor apartment sits opposite a charming church bell tower that rings each morning (a true taste of local life!). The building has two lifts, which can be reached after a few steps at the building entrance.

The neighbourhood is full of restaurants, bars, shops, and markets, including the beloved Takis Bakery, famous for fresh bread, pies, cakes and more!

A scenic pedestrian walkway nearby leads directly to the Acropolis, Acropolis Museum, and the picturesque streets of Plaka. The Acropolis metro station, a short walk away, provides easy access to the airport and Piraeus Port via the metro (each requires one line transfer) and to other parts of Athens.

This was a great property! The property manager was very nice and let us check in a few minutes early without any issue. The place was clean, not too small, and the balcony was a great place to hangout. We were right down the street from a gyro stand, gelato place, plus lots of other restaurants. The bathroom is definitely pretty small, as other reviews mentioned, but we didn’t mind. It was a nice area, we felt safe walking around at night and nothing sketchy going on. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it friends !

Great location that is close to all tourists spots

We were generally very happy with our stay there. Room is spacious for the two of us and the balcony is also large. About the only drawback is the constant street noise we could hear from the apartment, both during the day and night.

Adorable apartment in a great location

This is an adorable little apartment. It’s clean, simply furnished, and organized. It has everything one might need (including a washing machine!) and a small kitchen space. The location is incredible. It’s close to everything, and has a lovely nighttime view of the top of the acropolis. The staff are kind and helpful and check in and out were easy processes.

Close to the Acropolis

We really enjoyed the short walk to the Acropolis, lots of awesome restaurants nearby. A very nice neighborhood. Felt very safe there.

Great location

Perfect location and super host. A short walk to the pedestrian walkway surrounded the Acropolis. The host was quick to respond and even arranged an early morning taxi for us.

Location, location, location

Here you experience a real neighborhood, yet are walking distance to many places you’ll want to visit. Nearby are Restaurants of varying price ranges, bakeries, drug stores, wine stores, coffee shops, and gelato and souvlaki stands on the corner. Very few tourists. And a lovely balcony. Perfect Location - great balcony

This apartment was perfect for our three night stay in Athens. It is just as described. The outside balcony is roomy. Easy access and great response from management. We did not like the bathroom because of the slippery floor as the shower water goes onto the marble floor, making it a little dangerous.

Nice little stay just a short walk from all the excitement

Our stay here was awesome, the apartment was really nice and such a short distance from the parthenon, the entrance was a chill 10 minute walk away. The balcony was nice to enjoy some drinks late at night. The tavern across the street is a nice hidden gem, fantastic breakfast and way cheaper than all the other places near the attractions :)

Perfect for first time in Athens!

Excellent location to see all attractions. Metro nearby if needed but everything you need is walkable. Very convenient to get to/from the port and airport. We liked that it was a very quiet location despite being close to everything! The bathroom is very cosy but it was okay enough for 2 nights! Would stay again and recommend.

Everything was wonderful! Our host arranged for pickup at the airport. We were met at the apartment by Giannis and he gave us very good instructions. Location was perfect 10 minutes from Plaka and Main Street for bus tours. Close to the acropolis as well. We enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you!

Love this location!

Close enough to all of the sights and Plaka but far enough away to avoid the circus feeling. Balcony has a small view of the acropolis that was wonderful. Everything was within walking distance. Extra shout out to the booking agents staff, their attention to detail in arranging transportation possibly saved my sanity.

A great location in Athens.

This was a good location, close to many attractions in Athens. The neighborhood is vibrant, with lots of restaurants and shops close by. The apartment had all the needed amenities and was very clean and comfortable. The host also arranged our taxi transfer from and to the airport, which was a great convenience. I highly recommend this location if you’re visiting Athens.

Cute

The place was clean, cute, and in a great location, close to the acropolis and lots of shops and restaurants. The large balcony and the view of an old church were my favorite aspects of the stay, but a close second was how friendly and responsive the hosts were. They allowed an early check-in which was amazing after a long international flight. They arranged a transport back to the airport for an additional charge (getting there we chose to use the metro with a station not far from the place), and they allowed us to store our luggage for free at their office location since we had a night flight out.

A perfect abode in the heart of town

Found this place online and had never been to Greece prior so no prior references. To summarise amazing!! Host was very informative and replied quickly. Location right in the centre of town close to acropolis museum which is well nestled amongst restaurants and shops. Room was a a studio with a lounge and toilet plus a large balcony just as described. Very clean and fully equipped including a washing machine. Everything was provided including cooking facilities. Overall really lucky to have found this place and thoroughly enjoyed living there.higly recommended!!

Perfect location - Lovely small apartment

This apartment is lovely and in the absolute perfect location, a few blocks from the Acropolis Museum, in the midst of the Koukaki District with numerous restaurants & cafes that are open very late, e.g. until 1 & even 2 a.m. Great supermarket is just 1 1/2 blocks away. Several bakeries and ice cream shops nearby as well. The only suggestion I might make is that the owner get a 4g/5g internet router as the internet connection is otherwise quite slow. We had our own mobile wifi so it didn't become a problem for us.

Great Property, Great Service and Very Trustworthy !

My overall impression of this property is that it was Cute, Cozy, and Comfortable. It was well equipped with everything that I had need of, especially the luxury of having a washing machine. I was most impressed with the Customer Service that I received, when I had a minor problem. They came right away and solved the problem. I loved the fact that everything I needed, as far as dining and stores , were all in walking distance, including the Acropolis Museum. Lastly, what really meant a great deal to me was the kind responses from the manger and/or owner, when I needed help or had a question. I would love to stay at this property again. I highly recommend it, because the price was also right for my budget. Thank you very much for providing such a great place to stay!

What a fabulous place! If anything the pictures don't do it justice. A perfectly efficient little apartment with everything we needed. The AC, water, plumbing and WiFi were excellent, in spite of what some guides warned about Athens accommodations. I was a bit worried about Koukaki as a location, because it doesn't get much space in the guides, but it's a place where Athenians live. Expect to spend a lot of time on that fabulous balcony, looking at the Acropolis on the horizon and watching people going about their daily lives. And yet it's literally 2-3 minutes from Makrygianni, the pedestrian walkway, the Acropolis and museum, with Plaka, Syntagma and Monastiraki just beyond. We ate out 9 days and nine evenings during our stay, and almost all were in Koukaki and within a three- or four-minute walk. I might have said too much, but I could go on and on...

OK stay

There are definite pros and cons to this place. To start with the pros, the location is great. A short walk away from the action while not being in a very busy area. There are great restaurants nearby. You’d never have to leave the block to eat and not be disappointed communication with the host was great. He also booked us a taxi home which saved the headache of booking one ourselves although we were told a price and that we could pay credit card then when we arrived at the airport the driver was not happy we were paying with a card and charged us extra because of it so that peeved me off. The balcony is amazing. So big and we spent a lot of time out there. Now the major negative here is the shower. It is impossible not to get the floor of the tiny bathroom wet…and I mean WET. I had to put the shower down to a trickle, angle it to the wall and try to shower as quick as humanly possible but still managed to get water all over the floor. Although I read the reviews, I was like how bad could it be? It’s bad. If you value a good shower this is not the place for you! I’m also a light sleeper and found the restaurants downstairs to be noisy. They play loud music and the sound of the bass was keeping me awake although they stop by 12am/1am ish. So overall it was pretty good. Depends what you need in a stay. For us the shower/bathroom would definitely deter from booking again.
