"The advert on the hotels.com website did not match the facts of the stay. The advert states free parking it was not it cost me £30 for the stay. We spoke to the owner who stated that the advert was not placed by him. It was the fault of hotels.com as he does not use them you get your info from a 3rd party All I know is that I am £30 out of pocket. The stay was good as I can not blame hotels.com for all the rain."

"We have stayed at Astor house before so we came back to the same apartment. They had upgraded the sofas to recliners which was a nice surprise. The apartment itself is easy to get to clean and Torquay town centre is a short walk away. It has a great view over the beach side of Torquay and the area is quiet. The place is clean and well maintained and the host kindly provided some biscuits and milk. I would highly recommend this place."

"The property was easily found by using a Sat Nav. The property inside and outside was very clean. There is a narrow gravel drive up to the property so Parking was in the village square which was a short walk around the outside of the pub, so not recommended for disabled as there is also steps up to the entrance door. The entrance was a wooden decking which had a range of colorful potted plants and well maintained. The owner was very helpful with directions and places to visit and eat...

"The room was clean with everything that you needed. A king size bed would have been better but the room wasn't big enough. Staff were attentive, breakfast very good. Plenty of parking and accessible to the main A38."

"Lovely stay, breakfast was very good with plenty of choice and the cooked breakfast was kept nice and hot. We had Room 328 which was very bright and airy with panoramic views, the station, cricket ground and a corner view of the sea. The shower over the bath proved to be tricky in getting the right temperature without being scolded or it turning freezing cold, hence this took about 10/15 mins each day! Bed should be replaced, has probably seen better days as it was very squishy and bouncy, however, this did not ruin our stay. Both of the pools were very good as were the new changing rooms. Staff in the Compass Bar were very helpful and worked well in their roles, especially Ahmed who was always smiling, polite and helpful. Check-in staff were always professional and helpful."

"We had a lovely stay overall. The hotel is in a great location, being close to both the beach and the town centre, which was very convenient. The room was on the smaller side but was clean and well maintained. The bathroom was a good size, although the shower itself was quite small. The bed was comfortable, which made for a good night’s sleep. Parking is limited, so this is something to be aware of if you are travelling by car. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and particularly appreciated the excellent location."
