Our major problem was a that the property uses a lockbox for the key card. There is a phone number to call for problems but many travel phone plans do not have voice access - only data. So we could only communicate through the expedia messaging app without any clear signals that these messages would even be read or that we could access the property that night. Ultimately - over about an hour - things worked out but it was a very frustrating experience.
Having said that the property was lovely and perfectly located and priced well. And we ended up staying an extra two nights.

This is not downtown, but it is a good location that splits the difference between the airport and CBD. I walk, and it’s an easy (but longish) walk to the city center. Bus service is also frequent, and there is direct service to both the CBD and airport. It’s super clean, super quiet, and very comfy. It has a kitchenette. It’s overall a great spot.

The Ramada is a great venue. In walking distance to Riverside market, Shopping district and Arts Centre
Directly opposite to Te Kaha Stadium, this is my 3rd stay in 6 months.

Hotel was very nice and in a great area. There was a bit of a mix up on the rooms we booked which seemed to be a disconnect between Expedia and the hotel’s systems. The manager on duty resolved the issue and went out of his way to check on us later to make sure we were having a nice stay. The restaurant food was excellent and we really enjoyed the ambiance. Overall a great stay.
