We really enjoyed walking downtown, catching some trolleys and enjoying highly rated restaurants. The bakery downstairs is a lovely spot to grab pastries and coffee.
Perfect location! Adorable apartment. Loved having the City Bakery right downstairs, it was wonderful. Also the restaurant Bone and Broth was downstairs, we had a lovely dinner there one evening.
My sister, best friend and I enjoyed our stay here. Parking and getting in the building and to our room was so easy. Having coffee and delicious food in the same building was so nice! The kitchen is really spacious and we were able to use the washer/dryer for a few things we needed to wash. Everything was great!
King James apartment was very nice. It was clean and included all the basic necessities. It is conveniently located within a mile from downtown. The restaurant and bakery served very good food if you didn’t want to go too far for a meal.
My daughter and I enjoyed our stay. The apartment is comfortable and exactly as advertised. Convenient to downtown and walkable, lovely neighborhood. Owners responsive to a few problems that were quickly resolved. Sofa bed needs a new mattress but bed in bedroom is very comfortable. Cafe downstairs for great breakfast and restaurant for dinner.
Property is well maintained, clean and the space is well designed. Great location with Trader Joes and Whole Foods near by if you want to cook. Be aware they only had coffee, salt and pepper. There is a bakery and restaurant down stairs and a Starbucks at the end of the block. You are also within walking distance to downtown. The walls are thin and we did hear noise from the other apartments including one where a loud party was taking place, and you will hear traffic noise. That is the only reason I gave it a 4 instead of 5 stars.
My husband and I stayed Wednesday through Sunday. We had a wedding to attend. This was located just right fus us to hike, explore downtown and other parts of Ashville. The Biltmore was less than 20 minutes away, we hiked Triple falls and spent the day at the River Arts district. Everything was super close. We loved having the bakery downstairs for coffee and breakfast. We also had dinner at the restaurant below the apartment. We took evening walks through the neighborhood and felt safe the whole time. The apartment is small but fine for the two of us, we kept our bathroom items on the kitchen counter. We could only access one plug in the bedroom and it was on other side of the room, so our phones could not be next to us. All these things were not issues for a bad review, just things to note. We were happy to trouble shoot. We would stay here again.
Great location and parking options. There is a great bake/coffee shop and restaurant below the building. The apartment had all the amenities we needed and was super comfortable.
Liked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
We enjoyed the stay. Place was clean and well appointed. It also had a bakery, restaurant, bar on the first floor, which made it convenient. Definitely would stay there again.
Loved the location, property manager was very easy to communicate with. Will definitely recommend this spot to anyone who wants to be close to downtown. We will be back!
We had a great stay at this apartment. It is clean and comfortable. The location is so convenient. Bonus points for being right above one of the best bakeries we've visited.
This property was great for our quick girls trip to Asheville. It was very clean. Great location with an easy walk to downtown. Communication with the owner was easy and quick! Would stay here again.
Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay--the apartment was clean, wifi worked perfectly, and it's in a decent location. However, the property lists that it sleeps 4, but the pull-out couch mattress is unsleepable and barely thicker than a piece of cardboard. We ended up folding it up and one person just sleeping on the couch. Would do the host well to invest in a thicker mattress if they're counting that as sleeping 2.
The place was accurately described. Easy to access and had all the amenities needed for a long weekend stay. Conveniently located for a very short drive to Downtown. There were 2 nearby grocery stores if you wished to buy some items to get you through the weekend.
Although the following did not bother me as much, it is worth nothing that there was plenty of traffic noise since it is located on a busy street, the window shades did not provide a lot of cover so plenty of light came in early in the morning, and the walls were thin so you could hear the neighbors. This is what kept this place from receiving 5 stars. Other than that, everything else about the place was great.
This place was in a wonderful location. Being above Bone and Broth and City Bakery was very convenient. I'd recommend both! Walking distance to downtown Asheville which was nice on the warmer nights. The major con for this property is that you hear everything going on around you. It's a historic building so I assume it comes with the territory. Lots of traffic noise, it's as if the windows are open at all times. We brought a fan with us which helped drown it out, but if you are a light sleeper, this place may not be for you. Everything else was great though, comfy king bed and all. Just bring some ear plugs and your stay will be perfect!
