"It was good "

"I have stayed at the Santa Maria Inn multiple times for business and recently for personal reasons due to a family loss. Based on past positive experiences, I recommended it to my family for a family service. Upon arrival at 2:00 PM, I requested a slightly early check-in but had to wait until 3:00 PM, causing me to be late for the service. Even then, the room was not ready, and I had to return later to check in. I discovered the room had a single king-sized bed instead of the reserved two queen beds. The front desk apologized and offered a rollaway bed, which was not ideal. At midnight, we faced a door issue; the rollaway bed blocked access, and the upper latch was engaged. My keycard didn’t work on the second door. A staff member made new keycards but couldn’t open the door, requiring an engineer’s help at 1:15 AM. Despite the staff’s efforts, the experience was disappointing due to the series of issues, including not being able to check in on time and not receiving the reserved room. "

"Room was nice , nice view of the rock . Bed was comfortable , room was clean . The hotel has SOFT water, which I hate, so that was a bummer. "

"Outstanding place to stay. Incredible views. Nice trails on top of cliffs and down to the cove. Breakfast good and rooms are very clean."

"Staff was very kind and attentive. Very accommodating pet friendly hotel. Only thing missing was a designated poop area and poop bags. Nice pet gift box if you book through the Choice Hotel App. There was construction in the building across from us, but it did not disrupt our stay. I could not open the patio sliding door in room 212. There was a lock on the top of the sliding door that could not be removed. The AC did not work in our room, but thankfully they provided a box fan which helped. Breakfast was a treat, almost similar style to the Embassy Suites. Will definitely stay here again since my daughter goes to school at Cal Poly! "
