"This was by far the most unique, amazing hotel we stayed at on the island of Crete. Upon arrival we were given fresh-squeezed lemonade made from their own lemon trees. The staff was so friendly! The building is over 500 years old, and nothing like I've ever seen before. The suite we got was huge, (living room, full kitchen, dining room, and bathroom downstairs and 2 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs). We had our own private patio and a back door that led right to the pool. The town and the people...

"This villa is a real gem. Absolute world class one of a kind experience. Peaceful, beautiful mountain views from a modern, private and well thought out house. The location was perfect and central. Only 20 minute drive from all of the pristine beaches around Plakias and 20 minute drive from Rethymno for shops and city life while enjoying Crete’s mountain vistas and nature. "Hmm. This is a very good property and would be excellent anywhere else in the world but standards in Greece/Crete are very high. It's a little gloomier inside photos suggest with only limited natural light. There is construction work going on literally adjacent to the property currently so expect some noise and essentially the outdoor balcony space is off-limits during the daytime. Some minor maintenance niggles. Seems a bit mean providing a coffee machine but no capsules but hey ho. This is a...

"Comfy, clean, spacious room with kitchenette, lovely clean bathroom and a balcony. The apartments are located behind the main drag so are nice and quiet. Nobody at reception when we arrived and room not ready so we had to busy ourselves elsewhere for a few hours. Thought we were paying by card on line but seemingly not - ended up paying in cash at the owners request. Overall - room really nice; service not bad but not great."

Top Argoules Hotel Reviews

Nautilux Rethymno by Mage Hotels

10/10 Excellent

"Fantastic pool and beach view! Amazing staff! Gorgeous property!"

Oros Luxury Beach Resort

8/10 Good

"We had a deluxe villa with own pool. It was just a shame due to staying later in the season, we did not get the sun on our loungers and the pool was very cold. (Still tried it though!!) Suite was lovely, Breakfast was good, lots of choice. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Resort is close to main road, which was a bit annoying if sitting out. Overall though, could not fault the resort. However, walked along the nearest beach, and was very disappointed with the amount of rubbish and plastic around. Shame our tourist tax isn't helping with that!!"

Fata Morgana Studios & Apartments

8/10 Good

"Stayed in the split level rooms. Rather dated and a little overpriced . Stay in the new wing overlooking the pool and ocean for a better experience and value. We asked to change room and it wasn’t an issue. The access to a free washing machine was a great touch. Great service and friendly staff."

Mary Hotel & Mary Royal Suites

10/10 Excellent

"Amazing service, clean delightful little Boutique hotel. Breakfast was simple but delicious and plenty of choice - the eating area was amazing. Partially alfresco, chilled and bright. Room was fantastic and as an avid gym go-er, it was great to have decent weights and kit selection on site. Plenty to do a morning workout session in which is exactly what I wanted for my mini break. I travelled solo and I felt really looked after and comfortable. Buses into Reythmo old town easy to get and frequent making it accessible without any hassle."

Grecotel Plaza Beach House

10/10 Excellent

"We booked a room at the last minute. There will a little mix up upon arrival but the hotel upgraded us and bought us dinner to compensate us. Honestly, there was no need. The hotel was fabulous and the staff could not have been friendlier. The beach area was perfect and exactly what we wanted during our time in Greece. Rethymno is a lovely town and not nearly as busy as Chania, which made a huge difference. We would definitely go back to this hotel."

Dyo Suites

10/10 Excellent

"This hotel is amazing. We stayed in the platinum suite. It was absolutely gorgeous, clean, and huge space. The staff was incredibly friendly. The food was delicious. It was steps from the beach and the beach club is included in your stay. The price point for this hotel is such a deal. I really am so impressed with this place. Hot tub inside and on the balcony. Theres fresh baked Cretan dessert in the fridge along with water. There’s robes and slippers, blow dryer shampoo conditioner and body wash in a beautiful rainfall shower. Breakfast is also included and it’s DELICIOUS. Really good options. Very comfortable stay. DYO suites thank you for your hospitality and for an amazing comfortable and luxurious stay!"
