"The house overlooks Loch Erisort in a beautiful, quiet setting. It was spotlessly clean and very comfortably furnished with a better equipped kitchen than is found in many rental properties. We found it a good location for visiting Stornoway, the west coast of Lewis, and Harris. The local area to the south and east is also worth exploring. We had a meal at the local hotel which was pleasant, but, we thought pretty expensive, so wouldn’t really recommend that. "

"Joan's house is very spacious, well equipped, and perfectly located within 10 mins walk from the local shops (provisions, crafts and tweed) and the local restaurant, deli, ButtyBus, harbour and lochs. The Outer Hebrides were better than we imagined. I definitely recommend the hike around the island of Scalpay which you can do right from the house, including a visit to the lighthouse, a definite highlight. The most magnificent beaches are only a short drive away. I hope we can return! And when we do, we will definitely stay here. "
