"Stunning property in a newly restored old house. Beautiful, spacious and well-appointed room. The common areas were comfortable and there was a lovely balcony. The breakfast which was beautifully served on the balcony was beyond compare. Local, fresh, and delicious Cretan treats. Archanes is close to Heraklion and the palace of Knossos and had plenty of dining options. We were in Greece for three weeks and our night at Carpe Diem was probably our best stay. Can’t recommend highly enough. "

"We stayed in a small village not far from the city center, a place with its own history and wonderful people. Everyone was kind and welcoming. Right next to where we stayed there was a church, and spending time there lets you truly feel the local culture. We stayed in the “Sofia” apartment, which had its own terrace very cozy and homely. There was a kitchen, the only thing missing was a kettle, but overall it’s a very pleasant place with everything you need close by. The host is really friendly...

"This was a quaint comfy stay! The owner has put a lot of love and attention into the property, and it was really cool to see what it was before she did all the work. She did a great job fixing it up! The breakfast is delicious and very generous! The only minor thing was there wasn’t any WiFi. It is a somewhat remote location so that’s understandable. Overall a great stay and if you’re looking for an authentic Greek experience this is it! "
