Cabin very clean, comfy beds, great kitchen area with nice pots and dishes, cute little porch. Also Thank you Justin for mailing my straightener that I forgot was in bathroom cabinet! Remembered when we were already about hour on road. Overall, highly recommend this great VRBO!
Had a hard time finding, because I forgot to read your instructions. Oops!
But found it and was easy to get in. The trains in the evening where intersting to watch do maintenance. We enjoyed a couple new places to eat Thee Abbeys, and Iron Mule. Did Joe's canoe on the black River. Weather ended up being GREAT! Also did Elephant Rock and Johnsons shut-in. Perfect weekend!
Johnsons Shut-In. Perfect little enhoyedCa a
Enjoyed our stay. Our 2nd time staying here for our canoe trip. Patio area is nice for relaxing outside also. Canoe rental place Jeff's canoe only about 8 min away. And Iron Mule and Thee Abby Kitchen nice place to eat.
Loved the space!!! Ran out of toilet paper but luckily had extra paper towels! Ceiling fan had an annoying drumming noise. Great location, close to eats…liquor locker has great burgers!!!

Good price for the rental but lots of reasons not to bring kids.
Dog in the neighborhood bit my child. Looked for owner no where to be found. Train runs at 4 am and is directly in front of building. Mentions fire wood in a pavilion but no location of pavilion. Wi-Fi is not good and will not connect to tv at all. If you have children and expect them to have a tv to watch they won’t.

Very inaccurate listing. Listing says comfortably sleeps 8. In reality it uncomfortably sleep 6. There are 4 bunk beds and 1 queen actual bed. When we questioned where the second queen bed was we were directed to the kitchen cabinet where a air bed was stuffed. The back bedroom that sleeps 4 has no air movement even with the fan on. The bunk bed room is so tiny and hot to sleep in. Every movement on the queen bed creaked loudly. The pictures misleads you on how tight the spaces are. The listing also states that their was a washer and dryer, iron, and a hair dryer.....those did not exist in the cabin. The tv remote also was missing. The location was next to a railroad track and a train woke up the house at 4am. The address will take you to a house on the other side of the main road and ahould also be updated to direct you better. I will say that the host was flexible in that we had to reschedule our stay twice due to kids sports and weather. The cabin would have been fine for a small family. It just didn't suit our needs with older kids and adults. The listing is misleading and needs to be updated to accurately portray the cabin.
The positives: Cute, well decorated interior with almost everything one would need for a stay. Only 8 minutes from canoe/rafting rentals too. We loved that we could bring ours dogs and it was all a very pet friendly interior. Negatives: The house flies! There was a crack in the weather stripping of the front door (looks like someone’s previous pet pulled it away) leaving a gap. My husband and I killed so many flies everyday. They just kept coming in. In addition, 100 degree days did not allow for keeping the single AC unit cool in the back bedroom. It did great for the rest of the place but a cheap window unit in the back bedroom would make all the difference. Also, we had no sponge or scrub brush for dishes. Maybe just an oversight but we had to use lots of paper towels as sponges to wash dishes. Finally, the trains!! Okay, we thought the trains were really interesting at first as they came back and forth late afternoon. However the trains that came flying through shaking the cabin and blaring the horn in the middle of the night was alarming for us and the pets. Just something to be aware of if you’re staying here.

Inadequate description
We stayed in this property for a float trip on the black river.
The pictures indicate there are 2 queen beds, and 2 bunk beds. It appears in the picture the 2nd queen may be in a loft, in actuality it is a blow up mattress for the living room. That is fine, but it would have been nice to know.
The property is nearly on the railroad track, and that would have been nice to know as well. There is basically no grocery or eating in the town, it is a minimum of 25 minutes away. There is a dollar general, and gas station pizza available.
The actual property is new and fairly nice. There is an ant issue, so you have to seal up all your food at night. There is issues with the shower, it really needs a door, or curtain that is lower because it soaks the floor in the bathroom. We used a towel, but as you can imagine with 8 people showering, it was not good. The toilet lid is also cheap and kept coming loose.
The owners did respond fairly quickly upon arrival when I couldn't find the bed, and the internet wasn't working.

Nice Cabin - poor communication
When we arrived we had no way to get into the cabin. No communication from the property manager. We called the 800 number in the listing and 4 days later have no call back.
The cabin was extremely hot. There is a small A/C unit but the layout doesn’t allow the A/C to flow and reach the bedrooms. They had one small fan to circulate the air. The fan was completely covered in hair and was pretty gross. There was hair and dust in all the corners and cabinets and under the couch.
It’s a nice new cabin just poorly cleaned.
We were very tidy but when we woke up after the first night all of our groceries were engulfed in ants. There was only one trash bag and zero cleaning supplies. We drive 35 min to the nearest grocery store (local store closed for remodel). I messaged the host and received no response.
The internet did not work, which was impacting my ability to work during the week. Again no response.
The power went out several times which may have been the weather.
It was nearly Impossible to cook since the over was not able to reach 300 in one hour. Again no response or call back.
All these things are fine if you are expecting to be primitive camping but that’s not what this was.
It’s a cute cabin, located right on the train tracks, poor AC, no working oven, and no internet, ant problem and poor communication. The cabin is cute and new. Would be great if these issues were resolved.
