Annai village is a small, quiet community in the Upper Takutu-Upper Essequibo region of Guyana, located in the North Rupununi savannah. It's known as a gateway to the Iwokrama Rainforest and is located near the Rupununi River. The main area of the village is quite compact, with local homes, a few small shops, and the occasional guesthouse.

For couples seeking a peaceful retreat and a chance to connect with nature, staying at one of the eco-lodges just outside Annai village is an excellent choice. These lodges often provide organised activities like wildlife spotting tours, birdwatching, and guided walks into the surrounding savannah and forest, offering a blend of comfort and adventure. They typically focus on providing a relaxing experience with opportunities to explore the unique local environment.

Solo travellers looking for a genuine cultural experience will find staying within Annai village itself rewarding. You'll have the opportunity to interact with local residents, learn about their way of life, and experience the quiet pace of a rural Guyanese community.
